Keep your eye on Hutchison.
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 07:39 PM by last1standing
With all this talk of Pawlenty, I can't help but think that a switch is in the offing. Pawlenty brings absolutely nothing to the ticket and McSame knows this. I'm going to go on record as saying that this is nothing but a diversion to get people talking about his VP pick so that when he picks someone like Kay Hutchison the media has an excuse to push it as the big story over Obama's nomination speech.

I hope I'm wrong. We'll see.

6. I think McSame knows that would decimate his base.
As bad as Holy Joe is, he's still pro-choice. The repubs will never allow that.

5. She was on MSNBC earlier, and she said
absolutely no way. She said she supports John, but was not going to DC to be his VP. She wants to be Gov. That was her dream.

11. Like I said above, Joe Biden also said it wasn't him.
I'm glad it was, but it goes to show that statements like that can't be taken too seriously.

19. Well, then I guess we shall see.
I'm confident she was sincere. She wouldn't have been able to sit through a 5 minute interview with Tweety and not seem sincere, or as if she was hiding anything, if it was her.

Joe didn't even know he was the guy, when he said "I'm not the guy". He found out 2 days later.

22. I'm probably wrong but I can't help but think there's a switch about to happen.
Like I said to Drunken Irishman below, Pawlenty actually seems to detract from the ticket instead of adding to it. I don't see the gain.

23. Possibly. I think the question that McSame is looking to answer is...
Does he need to shore up his base or does he need to attract independents?

I think we'll learn a lot about the McSame camp's mindset when the choice is known.

Unless he can by some chance get Powell (which I don't think he can) then any option is a an anchor around his neck.

20. You may be right on that but I still think it's going to be a sleeper.
If signs were pointing to Romney, I'd believe them, but this is Pawlenty. He gives 100% of nothing to the ticket. He's not popular in his state, he's not charismatic, he doesn't bring in a demographic that McSame doesn't have covered and no one in their right mind would call him "ready on day one". In fact, it trips up McSame's biggest selling point, experience.

I have to think there's a switch coming.
