I just spotted that great line from this piece by Linda Bergthold in the Huffington Post, where she argues that this VP pick cost McCain the presidency:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/linda-bergthold/the-vp-choice-that-lost-t_b_122381.htmlAs she says later in the piece, "It is insulting to women to suggest that just "any" woman will do!"
After seeing Hillary Clinton fight so hard and come up just short in her quest to be Presidential nominee, does McCain really think women will cheer as he just plucks this inexperienced no-name Governor into the VP slot? I can imagine most women saying that while we want a female President, we don't want to be handed an unqualified one who doesn't even support a woman's right to choose. We want a female President who had to fight her way to the office on her own and who will use her power to fight for womens' rights rather than against them.
