So far they have done what they do best, divert everyone away from the actual issues pressing our nation, which they have no answers for, and get us to focus on things entirely superficial. The choice of Palin was brilliant. She dominates every discussion, here at DU included. No other VP choice could have done that, and if you overlook her ideology and screw ups in her state, which will never gain traction in the press 'cause we can't stay focused that long, she is an interesting and appealing candidate to the right people. Now were running against Sarah Palin, not John McCain. For the past three days nothing has been said about issues or plans to deal with America's needs, just the same old shit. Where the Democrats were expected and needed to layout concrete plans and policy, the pubs are doing nothing but talking about change(?) in Washington when they have been in control for the past 8 years. They have had the wonderful opportunity of impending natural disaster to shorten the convention and keep us focused on Palin for another day. I'm sure that is why they announced her nomination on Friday, so the press would go nuts over her for three days. I'm also sure they were praying for that storm to shorten the convention also. Less time for the country to realize they have nothing really to offer.
