I am a community organizer.
I spent 2 years doing national service with Americorps.

Two years of 50-hour weeks working for literacy in underfunded and underperforming local schools and in the surrounding communities. My only responsibilities were securing a better future for struggling children, building support for our NCLB-blighted schools, and finding resources for poor families.

(Not good enough for Sarah Palin, I guess.)

1. Whatsa matter? Too much of a sissy to work on an oil rig and do real work?
That's probably what those pinheads think. You're working to keep a society cohesive and they only want to smash it to bits.

Kudos for your work.

2. Thanks for your kindness.
Anyone who thinks community organizing isn't real work with real responsibilities needs to try it out and see!

I too was an AmeriCorps member engaged in literacy efforts and community organizing. It's hard work...Sarah Palin couldn't do this job. She can't hire a manager to do it for her.

Go to hell, Sarah. I'm more motivated against you and against McCain than I was 24 hours ago.

*She calls out the media, people who can smear her into oblivion.

*She calls out community organizers, people who will now be motivated to get others to the polls. People who will even more than before be willing to serve as elections monitors.

Who's next? Seriously, she makes enemies like most people breathe. Thoughtlessly and with little effort.

4. Sarah Palin is the punchline of the joke that is the McCain campaign!
Yay, Chan!

I really, really hope that crapping on people who dedicate themselves to helping others comes back to bite Palin and McCain on the behind.

5. My wife is a community activist and I work in the oilfields.
Not all of us are pinheads(just the majority). No offense taken, just wanted to give you a ribbing. :)

6. Well, I hope you are ashamed of yourself.
Why, I'll bet you didn't shoot a single moose during your entire stint in Americorps.

7. You got me there. I wasn't president of the PTA or a sports anchor, either.
Geez, what the hell have I been doing with my life?

(The schools here are 'weapons-free zones' though, so I have an excuse.)
