So Obama has the grit to take unscreened questions from the media...
Not only grit but a sense of confidence in his positions and his ability to think on his feet.

What does this say about Obama?

HE is quietly confident, highly intelligent and able to respond quickly.

On the other hand, when was the last time McCain stood in front of reporters and took questions from the press gaggle?

Biden is able to field questions without having a handler around.

What about Sarah?

I know this has all been hashed and rehashed and rehashed again and again here on DU and other democratic websites, but don't you think the people will start to wonder why McCain and Palin are not taking questions from the press corp?

It goes to character...

It goes to confidence in your positions...

It goes to an ability to think rationally...

It also goes to a belief that communicating with the American public is done, at least in part and like it or not, through the press corp.

Just an observation.

1. If his O'Reilly interview isn't enough to prove he has a pair...
I don't know what is.

Imagine if Palin or McCain were subjected to the same style of aggressive questioning from someone like Chris Matthews. Palin would probably walk off the set and McCain would probably have an angry meltdown.

Not only does Obama have the cojones to step into the den of lion's, he remains calm and unsettled as he does it. THATS a president that can and will take the heat if need be.

2. He is Presidential. He's the cure for what ails us. I just wish everyone would rip off
their blinders of hate, selfishness and fear so they can see it like I - we do.

3. Obama does indeed have that character, that courage...
And the confidence!

It has been so damn long since we've had a president who could behave as intelligently as he will, that we hardly know what to make of him.

His character is above reproach.

Your observations, are, as usual, spot on.
