upcoming Nat'l Enquirer: "Palin Family Shocker"...
Besides painting an unflattering portrait of the Palin kids, not sure how this "helps". I wish the NE would stick to Palin herself, her ethics, and any personal misbehavior.

http://www.nationalenquirer.com/_palin_family_shockers_what_sarahs_really_hiding/celebrity/65407

The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively that Sarah's oldest son, Track, was addicted to the power drug OxyContin for nearly the past two years, snorting it, eating it, smoking it and even injecting it. And as Track, 19, heads to Iraq as part of the U.S. armed forces, Sarah and her husband Todd were powerless to stop his wild antics, detailed in the new issue of The ENQUIRER, which goes on sale today.

THE ENQUIRER also has exclusive details about Track's use of other drugs, including cocaine, and his involvement in a notorious local vandalism incident.

“I’ve partied with him (Track) for years,” a source disclosed. “I’ve seen him snort cocaine, snort and smoke OxyContin, drink booze and smoke weed.”

The source also divulged the girls would do anything for Track and he’d use his local celebrity to manipulate other guys “to get them to steal things he wanted.”

“He finally did what a lot of troubled kids here do,” the source divulged. “You join the military.”

And as Gov. Palin has billed the state of Alaska for various expenses related to her children, as reported by The Washington Post, The ENQUIRER's investigation reveals that she was so incensed by 17-year-old Bristol's pregnancy that she banished her daughter from the house.

Another family friend revealed pre-prego Bristol was as much of a hard partier as Track was.

“Bristol was a huge stoner and drinker. I’ve seen her smoke pot and get drunk and make out with so many guys. All the guys would brag that the just made out with Bristol.”

When Sarah found out the teen was pregnant by high schooler Levi Johnston, she was actually banished from the house. As part of the cover-up, Palin quickly transferred Bristol to another high school and made her move in with Sarah’s sister Heather 25 miles away!

And the ENQUIRER also learned that Levi Johnston, the baby mamma’s future wedded dada, who was glad handed by John McCain at the GOP Convention, isn’t too happy about his impending shotgun nups either.

“Levi got dragged out of the house to go to Minnesota,” Levi’s friend told The ENQUIRER. “Levi realizes he’s stuck being with Bristol because her mom is running for Vice President.”

The friend also confided that both Bristol and Levi “broke up a few times and they definitely messed around with other people.”

Meanwhile, as members of the Palin family’s war viciously over “Trooper-Gate” and claims of Sarah’s extramarital affair have turned the political race into a chaotic arena of threats, denials and vicious attacks by political black ops, The ENQUIRER has discovered shocking new details about the red-hot affair scandal!

For the full story of the secrets Sarah Palin is trying to hide – pick up the new ENQUIRER!/i]

felt it was "respectable" enough... Lets see if anyone is curious enough about THIS story to follow up..you know... like reporters

35. This article speaks volumes about Palin herself

What kind of "Family Values" does this represent?

My parents always taught us "when you walk out of this house you are representing OUR family. "

So, if her little children are wild as holy sin and she is making her daughter marry someone that doesn't want to marry her - that reflects on the Mother as much as the wild child.

Do you think they will invite a spokesperson from the NE to come back and discuss Palin?? Nope.

3. It matters because it speaks to Palin's GOP "family values" hypocrisy...
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 06:07 AM by ClarkUSA
Since she's always touting her family as an example of her greatness as a "hockey mom," even though Track stopped playing
hockey years ago. It will be amusing to watch James Dobson try to put lipstick on Palin's many pigs.

Republicans hailed the National Enquirer when it brought down Edwards, now they can hardly diss it's credibility when it's Palin
in the crosshairs, eh?

through the muck and and there was nothing there.

THere's something here. If she's this bad of a mother, what kind of a VP will she be?

And, I feel the same way about McCain. He's a terrible father. A terrible husband. If he was that willing to throw his flesh and blood under the bus, what will he do to us?

And, you're right about the NE. I harken back to Men in Black. Maybe it IS the only honest magazine left.

20. I spent 15 years working with families ... IMO ...
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 06:38 AM by Cosmocat
adjudicated youth in group homes for 5 years, and 10 years doing grassroots social work with families that had at least one child at risk of placement.

I can tell you, when there is smoke there is fire 95% of the time. And, when you have THIS much chaos in the family system, it starts up top. I have used the Jerry Springer line with this crew from day one. It is a bit "harsh" to say "trailer trash" but this is NOT some "ideal" family. This is a VERY dysfunctional family system, and you see all kinds of irresponsible behavior, again, starting with the parents - assuming it is true, her flying from Texas after her water broke, that is some of the most truly irresponsible behavior a mother could engage in.

I think people are a bit scared to say it, but the culture in Alaksa is A LOT different from what THEY call the "lower 48." There are things that are acceptable up there that would be very much out of the mainstream in the continental states, and even with that lowered bar, this crew is still out of the norm.

People here note the inconsistencies, that a pretty darn responsible Chelsea Clinton got racked through the coals, and even more profoundly, that part of the "package" that this crew is trying to put to this trainwreck is that she is SUPER MOM. They want to paint her as super mom, then try to firewall the EXCEEDINGLY large amount of crape that exists within the family.

AND, again, there is NO doubt that with such exceptionally chaotic behavior by the children, that the parents are engaged in some kind of deviant behavior. There is TOO much there.

IMO, the enquirer is taking the low hanging fruit - the kids, and will work its way up to the parents.

24. Well, then you know what you're talking about - and it jives with what I have been thinking.
I've read accounts on Alaskan blogs that cryptically refer to Palin's "very dysfunctional" family. Now we know what they meant.
Also, according to the DEA, Wasilla is the "meth capitol of America," so one has to wonder what other drugs Track and Bristol
used besides MJ and Oxycontin.

You said: "They want to paint her as super mom, then try to firewall the EXCEEDINGLY large amount of crape that exists within

I agree. I told my significant other that Jerry Springer could do a week's worth of shows on the Palin Family. Sarah and her
husband got married when she was already pregnant with Track (he was born eight months later), so it looks like Bristol is
carrying on some sort of Alaskan tradition or something. I relish the weeks to come, as it seems NE is intent, as you said,
on doling out bits at a time - the better for Palin's fans to absorb.

about the Palin kids, but they've been trying to keep it toned down until there was some confirmation. I don't always trust the National Enquirer, but given the rumors that have been circulating here, there may be some fire here.

28. Sarah's penchant for secrecy rings warning bells
When we learned that she hid her last pregnancy - not just from the public, but from her own children, and that she didn't discuss her joining the McCain campaign with them before accepting the offer - and lying to them about why they were flying to Ohio I knew right away that there was something terribly, terribly wrong with this family.

Talk about low rent. But don't worry - any and all revelations like this will be either ignored, disbelieved, or hailed as "proof of God's grace" by our starstruck citizenry.

Americans are more than stupid enough to elect Palin-McCain. Look at 2000 and 2004! I don't think they even need to cheat this time. The people themselves will kill our country through ignorance, fear, and hate - the Three Horsemen of the Republican Apocalypse.

7. It's the NE doing what they have been doing for years. If Palin
did not want to be on the front page, she should have never accepted the VP slot. If she wanted her kids left alone, she should not have trotted them out on the national stage.

She loves the attention; I would love to see the GOP attempt to sue this rag.

...and Palin-McCain are gunning for 4 more. It's the nation itself that is out of control. We will get the government that we, as a group, deserve. Apparently, what we deserve is a fascist theocracy.

The idiots are dragging the thinking people into the abyss after them. We're severely outnumbered. And the rope joining us to them is too strong to cut. So down we go!

21. It has become a single-issue party of a mean-spirited form of Christianity
All they care about is abortion, and they use their position on that to try to project an aura of moral superiority. Meantime, they are hanging out in mens rooms, cutting deals to enrich their benefactors and doing a crap-tastic job of governing.

Yeah, the nation itself is out of control, the proof being these jokers are running even with us with seven weeks to go after eight years of failure and the guarantee of more of the same. Hopefully, stories like this convince just enough women to take a second look at what they'd be getting with Palin a heartbeat away from the WH. They're voting for her because she's a mom? Maybe one or two would like to know what kind of mom she is.

I'm not surprised but it is pretty amazing stuff about our new all-american family that is an example of wonderful values for all in the heartland. I could be cynical and say that there are many delusional "perfect", "true value" families that fit this mold. No doubt the right wing and MSM will rally around Palin during this difficult time as she tries to serve her country while the left tries to tear her family apart.

30. I sort of believe this story and here's why
My Dad is a Freewill Baptist Evangelical Preacher, straight out of the Appalachian Mountains of SW VA. I am the only daughter and have 3 brothers. My Dad, was SOOOO strict on me, him being a preacher and all. I suppose that's because he was really afraid that I would get pregnant and embarrass him I suppose. Getting pregnant, back then especially, was a REALLY bad thing (It still is with these people).

Anyway, my point is, when you have these evangelicals being so strict on the kids, not teaching any sex education, only that getting "that way" (a SW VA term for pregnancy before wedlock, to this day), only makes a child rebel. I know I did. I wasn't allowed to watch TV (it was bad, and we didn't even know the word cable back then), couldn't go to the movies because of the "sin", couldn't got to high-school football games because you might run off and commit some kind of "sin", you name it, it was all "sin". So, as I said, I rebelled. I would sneak out my window at night, just so I could go out and do something with friends, I would drink just out of curiosity I suppose. I wanted to have fun, go and do things other kids were doing, so, I found a way to go about doing that. Being a evangelical preachers kid was not fun, was very stressful, and all I wanted was to turn 18 so I could get the heck out of the house and not have anyone control me. That's what it all was, CONTROL.

So, maybe, just maybe, if the Palin kids have been out partying and getting "that way", maybe it has something to do with their religion? Most kids from back then that I went to church with were just as wild as I was.

32. Bless you for what you had to endure! I had Baptist grandparents
who were very loving people, but fortunately my dad didn't go along with it and we were raised catholic (drinking and gambling are okay!). We were able to drink as older teenagers, but had to stay at home to do it without getting into trouble.
With Palin, it's the hypocrisy of it - trying to pass the pregnancy off as "blessed event." Pregnancy and parenthood should always be a matter of intention and not "accidental." Sex ed is a must!

Yours is a REAL story of survival.

Any word on how the Palin tabloid dramas are being viewed by your old hometown?? I know that evangelicals are excited about her anti-choice stance, but surely there's a limit to what they will forgive?

I live in VA too and see far more Obama signs than McSame's, but I mostly travel in largish/blue areas (NOVA, Charlottesville, Blacksburg) so I'm wondering how Palin is faring west of Roanoke.
