To Obama Campaign: It's Time For The "Saxophone" Moment
I'm happy to see the offense and defense turned up the last few days. I think, in the midst of the dogfight, it's a perfect time to interject something positive, and fun, to remind Americans that Obama is COOL.

Remember when Clinton played the sax on TV during his first presidential campaign? I think that was a key moment. When people saw he was COOL, the polls shifted.

They're always referencing that he likes to play basketball.... why not put out a video of a little one-on-one with Charles Barkley? It would be cool to know your president has "got game."

1. We did see him shoot a hoop while visiting with the troops. Does that count?

4. The sax thing helped for Clinton because he was *white*.
...and there is the stereotype that white adults lack rhythm, coolness, etc. It brought in more Clinton votes from the younger, "hip" crowd.

Obama's already got these people in spades. What he needs are the older white swing voters.

Obama displaying his basketball chops would do little to win them over if they are on the fence. They are used to seeing blacks do well in sports and cheering them on in that aspect. They are not, however, ready to give us the highest office in the land. To many that are bigoted, sports and entertainment are what "we" are supposed to excel in. We're not smart enough for the serious stuff.

8. Not only white, but hickish.
Maybe in some circles hick is cool, but to the general population it is not.

In the cool factor, Obama trounces any candidate we've put up since JFK.

7. I've been saying the same thing: Obama needs to play up his basketball game
It's not just appealing to urban areas, but also the heartland of America.
