You want to talk about sexism, McCain? Let's talk about it.
Why are you against the Ledbetter Fair Pay Act for women?

Why are you against a woman's right to control her uterus?

Why did you sit on your hands when one of your supporters called Hillary Clinton a bitch to your face?

Why did you call your wife a cunt and a trollop?

Why are you against working class and middle class folks (the majority of whom are women)and only for corporations?

1. this is EXACTLY how Obama should have responded, instead of being defensive.
WHEN are they learn how to play the game?

that's all it is to those republiscum, and they will do ANYTHING to win.

andrea mitchell asked some old RNC bag about the sex ed ad, and let her filibuster a BS answer without ANY followup.

that's why the dems have to take things into their own hands

thanks for this great response, which actually (except for the c*** remark) deals in issues, which, as Rick Davis says, the repugs don't do.

4. 24 hour soundbyte cycle
I heard the sex ad bit from Andrea Mitchell. It was nice that she brought up the question (mentioning that the legislation that was apparently being referred to was actually aimed at educating children about sexual predators)... and it wasn't surprising that the co-chair lady just spewed a mix of ignorance and trust in her own party's integrity.

I can't help but wonder, though, if a story I've heard about attacks on MSNBC's integrity/impartiality by the Republicans... most specifically aimed at Olberman, and even Chris Matthews (?) ... and the implications that the NBC 'newspeople' are afraid of being 'spattered' by the charge... I wonder if all of that has Andrea Mitchell and others afraid of following up on BS spin not-answers.

It's too bad that the population in general can't be trusted to see through the BS spin not-answers. And it's too bad that Obama's supporters, when they point out that it's a BS spin not-answer will be charged with being partisan.... and that that somehow allows doubt to be cast on the truth of what they say.

It is a shame that the press is so spineless...

2. McCain's top 7 sexist rants
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 01:21 PM by grantcart
Former Rep. Pat Schroeder, a Colorado Democrat who became well-known and respected for her championing of women's rights during the 1970s and 80s, told the LA Times recently, "He has always had trouble dealing with women as equals." Based on the following collection of McCain incidents- from rape jokes to derogatory slurs- she just might be right.

Calling His Wife a C*nt

Calling a Young Girl Ugly and Disparaging the Attorney General

Delegation of Female Air Force Pilots

Comparing a US Ally to an Ugly Woman

Rape Joke

Wife Beating Joke

Opposing Equal Roles for Women in the Military

5. you forgot the ugly daughter joke
point is, though, that they have to refuse to get sucked into the defensive mode, and turn EVERY attack into an attack of their own

repugs do it with ease, because they've been taught to do it.

they almost never answer an attack with an answer; they turn it around, usually successfully enough to ward off the wussy 'journalist' posing a difficult question.

think about it: have you seen Tucker Bounds since he blew it against Campbell Brown? he didn't have an answer for a real journalistic go round for two reasons: One....most 'journalists' don't hold repug feet to the fire>>>Brown, for some reason, did, that time. Two...there usually IS no honest response for probing questions, because they have no issue-oriented answers, as Rick Davis amitted, so they can only successfully campaign on wedge issues, smears, lies, and fear. the 'journalists' they face (as well as most dem surrogates), fail to FORCE them to answer pertinent questions, and let them get away with rhetorical murder on a regular basis

until the dems force this issue, which they're only beginning to, they will continue to lose

3. Who is he kidding? His choice of Palin was sexist.
He showed his hold long ago and needs to simply shut up with that lie of a line.

6. He could use that "bitch" video in an ad today
Toss it up on the net and buy some markets. This needs to be done today.
