Why does the media in general and Chris Matthews in particular pretend they have no control over the news cycle? Matthews laments that they should be talking about real issues, yet he spent most of this show on this stupid thing.

Yes, he highlighted the hypocrisy of that guy (former Denny Hastert aide?), but so what. He could of ignored the issue and instead focused on real issues. How about having each teams people on talking about the Fannie/Freddie bailout and how it relates to the economy or the Michigan Automotive situation or the Interior Dept Corruption issues, etc.

sounds to me like someone being rudely shouted down and not allowed to get a word in edgewise.

It would be nice, though, if Tweety would occasionally STFU and let his guests say a complete sentence. He shouts them down constantly. I despise these Republican spinners, but I still want to smack Tweety when he asks one a question and then won’t let the person he is questioning try to answer it. If the answer is BS, as of course the Repub spinner’s answers were bound to be, he can then refute it, but he doesn’t let the man say anything.

Obama comment in its full context. When he just plays the lipstick on a pig line without what he said before that it could be interpreted that he actually was referring to her. I heard the speech from the start and he never mentioned Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska or referred to her in any way. He started out talking about the Bush record and ended with the lipstick on a pig line.

This not a discussion or a debate anymore, the Republicans have taken that away, now it's a war.

It's time Democrats stop pretending this is anything else but a war and take these assholes on without a hint of mercy. They will have no mercy on you or your children, it's time to start LIVING as such.
