McCain should have stuck to the Palin strategy of avoiding interviews...

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/11/politics/animal/main4440080.shtml

Wow... was he bad.

The GOP was doing fine the past week, as long as they continued to run the Swartzenegger '03 campaign (Attack the media, avoid any un-staged public appearances, don't interview, smile a lot).

The man at the top of the ticket (supposedly) went off script today.

1. This could be the reason
They plan to "keep on" doing rallies together. Not only are they afraid of what Palin might say, they know that McCain can't handle things on his own. All I have see this last week is Palin doing most of the talking, which just amounts to a few attacks on Obama, and bragging about McCain, while he stands there looking like the VP instead of the presidential nominee! I think maybe he is having a hard time with his memory, so they give him the basics to say "after" Palin gives her lines. This could be a sign that McCain is having so "old age" problems!

2. So each of them is covering up the other's weakness. And neither
of them will give spontaneous interviews or take unscripted questions from the press. Is half of America really this stupid?

4. The reason they keep doing rallies together is that
without her, he wouldn't draw more than 2 or 3 hundred people.
