Washington state Republican refuses to have "Republican" next to his name on ballot

Now this shit is funny:

http://www.boston.com/news/politics/2008/articles/2008/09/24/democrats_sue_over_how_gregoires_opponent_is_idd/

OLYMPIA, Wash.—Washington state Democrats sued a state official Tuesday to get a Republican listed on the ballot, arguing a candidate is obscuring his party identity by ballot language that says he "prefers GOP party."

The candidate, Dino Rossi, is facing a rematch this November with Democratic Gov. Chris Gregoire, who beat him by 133 votes four years ago after three counts and a court challenge.

The lawsuit the party filed against Secretary of State Sam Reed argues that "allowing Mr. Rossi to obscure his true party preference and affiliation directly violates the law, would mislead a substantial portion of the voting public and would breed cynicism and mistrust in our public institutions and, indeed, in our electoral process."

Under Washington's new "top two" primary system, Rossi was allowed to pick how he wanted to be identified. Local polling has shown some voter confusion about the Republican nickname GOP, an abbreviation for Grand Old Party.

1. Even in my deep red district, the signs have no Rs or elephants.
Even though our state race signs outright say "conservative," don't indicate republican.

Even our own nutballs are rejecting a failed brand.

I haven't been back to WA for a few years how is Gregoire doing?

7. It is pretty funny on my ballot lots of the repubs changed to GOP
There were lots of them changing to GOP. There was a research poll that indicated that voters were more favorable to GOP then Republican. Rossi ran under Rebublican last time.

Sam Reed says it's too late to change the filing. Sam Reed is a Republican, but he did stand up for Gregoire in the recounts last time.

Rossi just creeps me out. Like a bad real estate agent...he is a real estate agent.

Gregoire endorsed Obama even when many of our top political leaders endorsed Clinton.

Rossi can run from the Republican party but he can't hide.

Our Obama and Gregoire signs aren't coming until next Sat. Lots of TV commercials for the ASS are playing too. Does anyone know what the polls are on this one.
