John McCain, whose ads skewer Barack Obama for his "celebrity" status, has his own close ties to show business, the new issue of Us Weekly reports exclusively.

The 72-year-old was recently made TV-ready by makeup artist Tifanie White who's worked on So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol.

McCain paid the 2002 beauty-school grad $5,583.43 for her services, according to the Federal Election Commission.

I can't find the image anymore since it's fallen off the Yahoo/AP photo search but there's a shot of Obama getting a bit of powder from a makeup artist at that same appearance - the notorious Saddleback Forum. It wasn't Tifanie, though.

As for the beauty-school grad dig, beauty school is where makeup artists come from. A person has to be licensed to touch people for a living - at least legally. I say all power to Tifanie for making big money. Good for her.

Sorry. I know. John McCain is a big old hypocrite but they all wear some amount of makeup when they appear before cameras. I doubt Obama goes full-on base and blush. He probably just needs a touch of powder. As for McSame, with his paleness, I'm sure he needs full coverage and contouring.

They cover every square inch with that pasty pancake makeup too. His face is all one color. No rosy glow, lips blend right in. He looks like a cadaver waiting to be buried.
