So what's next? Clearly Obama should NOT capitulate to McCain
on the bullshit campaign suspension/debate postponement. But what if McCain just refuses to engage in the debate? Should Obama just show up and answer questions from Leher? Seems to me that would be a way to get an audience of millions. I also think he should refuse to reschedule the debate- and in any case, debates require weeks of planning. If McIdiot fucks himself so that there's no foreign policy debate, well, tough shit.

I'm actually flabberghasted by McCain trying to pull this. I don't see the upside to it for him.

1. Maybe Obama should invite Barr and Nader to debate him.
Giving national exposure to Barr might steal some McCain votes. But Obama should also be present in the Senate to debate the bailout bill.

2. Here's the thing: if Obama handles it wrong, it will work...
If Obama lets him slide on this, it will be a win for McCain. It legitimizes him as somebody who can handle this economic mess, and it also helps run out the clock til November.

3. what do you mean by "if Obama lets him slide on this"?
I highly doubt that Obama will give in to McCain- if that's what you mean.

6. If he does, then McCain wins this round, big.
And there aren't very many rounds left until November.

8. why? because you say so? sorry, if you can't at least give a reasoned
argument as to why Obama should/must capitulate, your post deserves nothing but contempt. You didn't explain, hence my full contempt.
