2. 151 people have read this and no one responds. This is the bottom
line-- all Obama's work could well be in vain. We've seen this before. It makes me cringe.

13. Vote fraud affects black voters the most
Machine breaks down, ballots run out, poll workers oversleep, folks standing in long line can't wait any longer because they have to go to work,... It's madness.

No one seems to care as much.

17. Some of us have preached and preached about black box voting, and no one EVER responds, particularly
if I mention www.blackboxvoting.org I would also suggest that this be cross-posted in the DU Political Activist Forum - under groups.

This is a great website with TONS of materials, but I received some type of cryptic response that this organization would not be "welcome" at DU - some kind of connection with Andy somebody in the organization who died.

3. Here's what I believe is going on
The campaign is VERY well aware of the potential for abuse and this is one of the reasons they have a strong ground game going. However, you are not going to hear much of anything from them in public, because they don't want to be accused of 'whining about the process'. Republicans have stereotyped Democrats as complainers based on the results in 2000 and 2004 (ignore the fact that the GOPers routinely suggest Dem commit election fraud - they're not renowned for intellectual consistency).

The Obama campaign does not want to give the Republicans any signs of worry or anything that could be twisted into whining or even distorted into an intention to cheat by a GOP smear machine. If the GOP does try it on election day, the Obama campaign will throw the book at them and have them in court so fast that they won't have time to wipe off the fingerprints. But on the campaign trail, you're only going to hear about it through third parties rather than from the campaign directly.

14. That makes sense.
If we know about it, they have to know about it. They're running a campaign with all stars on the team.

I feel better now. Thanks for reminding us.

5. some may be too young to remember 2000 and 2004
I do, however, vividly. They stole the elections, just like that. And all we are doing today may be destroyed with one change in the voting machine code.

This is one thing that can prevent Obama from taking his rightful place in the White House. I am sure they are working on it in the campaign. We, too, have the responsibility to look for irregularities on election day.

6. As someone has already suggested...
the post you've linked to should be on DU's front page until the election. This is so vitally important. We also need this publicized far and wide.

7. The party regulars are following standard practice to get people to volunteer
Edited on Sun Sep-28-08 09:47 PM by patrice
with election commissions to work at the polls the day of the vote.

There are usually also party volunteers who organize to do poll watching and to organize teams of volunteer attorneys to respond to any voting crises.

In addition to this any high-placed planning wouldn't be plastered all over the internet for the opposition to bust our strategy.

There are also independent specialized voting reform groups who will be active during the vote.

AND - YOU can also go to barackobama.com and either find any vote-protection anti-election fraud groups that have already started there - OR - begin and organize one of your own.

Perhaps the reason you received so few responses to you OP is that many people already know all of the above.

12. Have you tried emailing or calling the campaign?
If you call his campaign you can speak with a volunteer. I've spoken with a couple of different volunteers and have had my question answered or my concern addressed. Even though they weren't paid staffers, they were very responsible and even followed up with an email.
