VOMIT: Palin comes to Omaha... plays Hockey & Maverick Trump Cards!
Edited on Sun Oct-05-08 09:25 PM by RoadRage
Well, Gov. Palin decided to swing by Omaha, NE tonight. I wonder why? Ohh.. that's right.. because Barack Obama put a field office in Omaha a couple of weeks ago in the hopes of taking 1 of our 5 electoral votes. McCain will take the state, but NE is one of only two states that splits its Electoral Votes.. and if the 2nd Congressional district (OMAHA) goes to Obama - then he gets 1 of the 5. Maybe not a big deal.. but maybe so - in a 169/169 EV tie. Go Obama for giving it a shot in the reddest state in the country!

Anyway.. just a snippit from Palin's stump speech tonight:

7:34 p.m.: Palin said the pundits have cast her appearance in Omaha as a signal that Republicans are afraid.

She said she "so wanted to reach into that TV and say, 'No. I'm goin' to Nebraska because I want to go to Nebraska."

She said good things have come from Omaha and highlighted UNO's hockey team, the Mavericks.

"Maybe it's just the name of the team . . . I love that cheer, 'Go Mavericks!'"

That's right - our Division 1, NCAA Collegiate HOCKEY Team is the UNO Mavericks.

I have a feeling she's been waiting ALL WEEK to get to tie the whole "Hockey Maverick" thing together.. i mean, it's like TAILOR MADE for her, ya know?

(Edited to add - the pic below was from 1 game where the team wore Pink Uniforms for a Breast Cancer Charity Fund Raiser.. they normally have red, black & white uniforms.. :) )

7. No.. real colors are Red, Black & White..
They were wearing the pink jersey's for a Breast Cancer charity game.

I thought the pink-jersey's were "Palin Pink" appropriate... and frankly it was the first team pic I could find. ;)

14. It was for Breast Cancer Charity..
Their uniforms are normally black/white/red.. :)

We should see if we can do an Obama fund raiser and have them dye their uniforms blue. ;)

4. Nebraska?

Why in the hell is she there? That's like Obama or Biden campaigning in Vermont...makes no sense.

9. Makes LOTS of sense..

Omaha is in play.. it's possible they might lose it.

Ahhh.. the 50 state strategy is fantastic.. McCain has to pull out of Michigan to defend parts of fucking Nebraska. How awesome is THAT?

10. My husband has that EXACT logo tatooted on his left arm..
He graduated from UNL in 1995... and had a class with "Touchdown Tommie Frazier".

We went to the Va. Tech game last week.. painful to watch them lose. Last night was even more difficult.. :puke:

13. Awesome!
Yes, it was painful to see them lose since I remember the grand old days (I was just a child - really) when they were national champions (1970'-71').

My father kept firing Tom Osborne and everyone had to "keep quiet" during the games.

8. Those were only worn for 1 game.. for Breast Cancer Charity..
I should have found a better pic.. they normally wear normal red, black & white uniforms.. i just saw the pink, and thought of Palin.. so I posted it.

They played a game last spring where most of the ticket sales were donated to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer fund.. and if they raised a certain amount, the team would wear pink uniforms for the night. ;)

11. That explains a lot. Have to admit that not many men feel "comfortable" wearing PINK
But the Breast Cancer Charity makes perfect sense.

Drop the puck, cupcake?
