What those of you who are smearing Clark are accomplishing
I just sent another $50 donation over to Clark04.com.

Thanks for your support.

1. And why?
Just to piss you off. It gives me almost as much pleasure as does the knowledge that it will be used against Bush.

5. Oh, good.
You're just pushing on Clark's FEC limit.. then he won't be able to accept any more donations. For three WHOLE months until September, he'll be on his ass, twiddling with his thumbs while Bush unleashes attacks after attacks on Clark if he does win the nomination.

Like I said, the Dean and Clark camps are filled with children :eyes:

14. No, Sir
Just a few minutes ago I asked if people were better than smearing our wonderful candidates. Pissing you off does not constitute smearing anyone.

23. Alright, and am sure you will follow
I think that expressing a desire to piss off those who smear our wonderful candidates is much more defensible than actually smearing those candidates. It is an emotional reaction, and a human reaction.

Nevertheless, I fully and unconditionally apologize for any harm or distress that my expressed desire may have caused.

34. Yep
"Nevertheless, I fully and unconditionally apologize for any harm or distress that my expressed desire may have caused."

If you do not consider that a full apology, there is nothing I can do but apologize again. So here goes:

I fully and unconditionally apologize for any harm or distress that my expressed desire may have caused.

that is a neophyte politician that has ZERO experience?

Good luck.

Dean will prevail once Clark is truly exposed for what he truly is.

7. You're thinking OUT OF CONTEXT again
NYE: In Iran?

DEAN: Iran is a more complex problem because the
problem support as clearly verifiable as it is in
North Korea. Also, we have less-fewer levers much the
key, I believe, to Iran is pressure through the Soviet
Union. The Soviet Union is supplying much of the
equipment that Iran, I believe, most likely is using
to set itself along the path of developing nuclear
weapons. We need to use that leverage with the Soviet
Union and it may require us to buying the equipment
the Soviet Union was ultimately going to sell to Iran
to prevent Iran from them developing nuclear weapons.
That is also a country that must not be allowed to
develop nuclear weapons much the key to all this is
foresight. Let’s act now so we don’t have to have a
confrontation which may result in force, which would
be very disastrous in the case of North Korea and
might be disastrous in the case of Iran.

He's just explaining about Iran, not Soviet Union. The thing is that SOVIET UNION supplied Iran back in the '80s. Soviet Union existed then, and sure enough, not now.

17. Republican vs. Republican Lite
That is where we're headed if we jump on the Clark bandwagon to "electability". You have to wonder whether backing someone who was as gung-ho about the war on terrorism and Iraq until Karl Rove didn't return his phone calls is really the way to go. (And remember Clark's response to this: telling two Republicans that "I would be a Republican right now if Rove returned my calls").

We hashed out the "Karl Rove wouldn't return my calls" canard months ago.
Thoroughly. At great length. Until everyone's eyes glazed over.

Old news, badly sourced, and a lie. And if you think that accusing fellow Democrats of being "Republican Lites" is going to get them to support your candidate, then you are sadly mistaken.

36. Like hell
This is wrong, it's been hashed before, and it's nothing more than another drive-by snipe-smear. It's bunk propaganda talking points, and despite some people's efforts, repeating it ad nauseam doesn't make it any more true. People need to quit pissing on our collective leg and trying to convince us it's raining.

is just plain mean ....

As a DEMOCRAT who will support EITHER Clark or Dean: ... I would expect ALL Democrats would act respectfully towards their fellow Democrats: ...

EVEN IF THEY GET INSULTED ...

When someone acts the ass, it doesnt give anyone else license to ALSO act like an ass .... WHY should you be above reproachment ????

If someone 'wrongs' you ? .... DONT wrong someone else ....

33. By giving money to Clark
I am not hurting anyone in any sense beyond helping someone who is not their preferred candidate.

As an afterthought, I added the 'and why' post, explicitly expressing my feelings about the smears. In hindsight, this was not nice and the thread would have been better without it, and I apologized for it.

39. Locking....
1. If you start a thread in the General Discussion forum, you must present your opinion in a manner that is not inflammatory, which respects differences in opinion, and which is likely to lead to respectful discussion rather than flaming. Some examples of things which should generally be avoided are: unnecessarily hot rhetoric, nicknames for prominent Democrats or their supporters, broad-brush statements about groups of people, single-sentence "drive-by" thread topics, etc.

Thanks,

DU Moderator
