1. Luis Gutierrez and he's a frontrunner
I honestly think it WILL be him and he would make a superb senator.

in the next Democratic Primary.

31. I agree. I'd rather see Jesse Jackson, Jr run against Daley.
I would definitely vote for him. I've had enough of the Daleys, thanks.

34. Yes, Triple-J. The Senate would be the best platform for pushing his Voting Rights Amendment
and national standards for Congressional and Presidential elections.

9. Rahm didn't endorse Obama during the primaries
He was the only Illinois Rep. to not endorse Obama. I don't know if Obama holds that against him or not. We really don't know. But if Obama does hold that against him, he will NOT get picked to replace him. I'm betting on Jesse, Jr.

30. Obama will politely give Gov. Blago his recommendation
That's how politics works, especially when you may win the election in a landslide. Obama will be very powerful and I can almost guarantee you that Obama and Blago will talk it over and there will be no disagreement on it.

You have to remember that Obama will have to work with this senator in D.C.

so he was a Hillary supporter from the get go. He's part of that DLC crowd, and you can bet money that he is part of " deals " Obama has made w/ the Clintons.

14. Jay Hoffman, from Southern IL is a great guy.
He was the keynote speaker at my college graduation last Spring. He's a wonderful speaker and connects with people easily.. much like Bill Clinton. He doesn't have the name recognition that Jesse Jackson Jr. has though.

17. Andy Martin!

While that is a joke, I serve it up to remind everyone that our Governor has turned out to be a complete nut nearly on a par with Mr Martin. And he has *sole* say in who replaces Obama. To whom is Gov Rod going to listen?

Definitely not the Speaker of the State House. If he refuses to discuss budgets and legislature with him, it is a pretty good bet he will not seek his advice on this.

Da' Mayor came right out and said that the Governor appears to have gone completely insane.

Seriously here, doesn't Blagojevich's eratic behavior make some of you think he should be properly evaluated?

The Senate Majority Leader has worked hard at remaining friends with Blagojevich, but Blagojevich appears to largely ignore him.

Speculating on who should be Obama's replacement is futile given that the decision is in the hands of a madman.

36. I doubt it
Rahm has said he wants to be the first Jewish Speaker of the House.

Going to the Senate he'd have to work his way from the bottom of the heap all over again...
