4 years ago while we were on our way to the shelter for our anniversary with them you would have been hard pressed to find a sign that did not say "Bush/Cheney".
This year was a different story. Throughout the small towns that we drove through it's true that Mr. McCain did hold the advantage in signage (about 25/19) but just the fact that Mr. Obama had as many signs as we saw was a remarkable occurrence.
On edit: I forgot to say these were very small town in Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Where we started counting signs because we were so surprised to see any at all. This is a really deep red area and has been as long as we've gone up.
The other interesting thing was that we saw signs for Republican members of Congress in yards that did not display signs for Mr. McCain or Ms. Palin.
