I've Seen Allot of Threads & Posts Here That Flame Republican Voters...
Edited on Thu Nov-06-08 05:33 AM by Indi Guy
If you want to continue the politics of the past -- keep on doing what you do.

If you want to move into the future -- let's focus on it.

As long as we demonize fellow Americans, America will remain divided. Isn't it time to understand our fellow Americans (can we to agree to disagree)?

1. We don't have to agree, but they're not exactly good winners.
besides, I'm willing to mend fences. But we need to be clear: they got their asses handed to them cause America doesn't agree with them anymore.

Also, they could serve to be reminded that their "Real America" wasn't enough to win.

Give us a week, and we'll start being ready for healing.

20. I"m not saying we shouldn't be. But after thirty years of being demonized by them
as socialists and traitors, excuse us if we want to enjoy watching them finally get their comeupins for a little while.

But, if you want to mend fences, try posting at FR. See how many people over there are willing to listen to someone from the other side.

We need to remember that many thinking republicans did vote for Obama.
They wanted change too.

6. I'm willing to forgive the average Republican
But there is NO forgiving or forgetting in my heart for the ones that actively aided and abetted the disaster of the last 8 years.

8. Ah -- You made the point I was hoping for...
There is a huge destinction between the Republican voter and the Republican leadership.

The Republican leaders (for the most part) sold loyal citizens down the drain.

7. I haven't seen the flaming of Republican voters.
Making fun of Freepers and their current disress is quite another matter.

After the last 8 years, I feel that I have a right to a little bit of gloating. People who don't want to see it can always use the "hide thread" feature.

29. The PUMAs have been worse than the Freepers
The Freeps are still in denial, they think this is just a temporary setback and that they will bounce back in 2010 or 2012, but the PUMAs are banging the drum that the media have "forced" Obama onto an unwilling nation, who only imagined that they had any say in the matter.

protectors of Democratic leaders in these new positions in future races. I think we should always
be aware of what the Republican party is capable of; division has been their mantra for many years.
Moving into the future doesn't necessarily mean we should be forgetting our past.
History will always repeat it's self at some level.

14. Do you really think we should pat these people on the head
and ignore their tantrums?

"A group on Facebook called “Impeach Barack Obama” has gathered more than 700 members who are holding heated discussions about the victory of the Democrat and defeat of Republican John McCain.

Another Facebook group, which has the same name, has collected 160 members and is inviting others to join because, as they claim, they can be the initiators of Barack Obama’s impeachment.

There are many Americans who do not fully understand the concept of socialism and communism that elected Barack Obama as president, the group says."

Just like we ignored the millions of tax payer dollars wasted to investigate every facet of Bill and Hillary Clinton's life?

Sometimes you have to punish adults who act like children.

15. Don't forgive stupidity
No one is for maintaining the politics of the past. Yet to ignore it will guarantee it's continuance. It is time to stamp out the main stream media's control through newspeak. Ignore the present at America's peril. There are many problems in this great country none of them have been solved just by electing President Obama.

It is more then "(can we to agree to disagree)" no it is much more then a simple disagreement. It is a serious problem and needs to be stamped out, and if it takes ridicule to make stupidity unpopular then so be it. So instead of just letting bygones be bygones how about coming up with something which will actually fix the problem.

16. There is a difference between demonizing the kind of person who shouts "kill him" and demonizing Pub
voters. Also, give us five minutes. It's been eight long, long, long years and the election was only Tuesday. Besides, none of them are supposed to be here. This is not a bi-partisan or non-partisan board. If they want to read here anyway, it's at their own risk. (I have no desire to read at Freeper and I don't really understand Democras who do.)

kids that have absolutely no interest in politics and are hearing this from parents. such a large group of kids anticipating hte death of obama doesnt make it easy for me to allow embracing of fellow american. oh i understand them. there is another reason it makes it so hard. demonizing them? i dont think so. i think they do it so well on their own

21. Especially targeted
are black Repubs. Few that they are they have a right to choose their political affiliation. Saying that any AA who did not vote for Obama has voted against their best interest may be true in the mind of the accuser, but obviously isn't true for that particular voter. Saying a Republican of color doesn't know what's good for them in the voting booth is tantamount to saying s/he should listen to his/her master and vote the way s/he's told. It's amazingly intolerant and racist.

25. We have seen the Enemy and he is NOT us.........
Edited on Thu Nov-06-08 10:30 AM by marions ghost
These hardcore right-wingers & neocons that emerged from the slime deserve no leeway. They have much influence over their downtrodden followers and they must continue to have that narcissist power over others. These voices are devising new strategies to bring us down as we speak. They'll be in obsessive overdrive, working even harder in defeat. We are enemies, the other, demons to them. With people like that, we must constantly maintain the boundary between us and them--they respect no boundaries. To some people this feels like being "mean" to people--it's not really, it's self-defense and defense of our values. It's necessary, unfortunately. They make it necessary.

Sensible Republicans who want to distance from that nasty cut-throat element in their party will have to actively do so before they get any respect from me. We will lead, and they can follow now...and learn. But we need to give them no deference. We should not turn the other cheek.

Surely you don't think the RepubliCONS are gonna go all "kumbaya" now??? Nope, so why should they expect kumbaya from us....it is NOT we who "brought it on"....

Nah.

27. I am still receiving email and text messages every day
that are very racists and bigoted. Yes, I want to remain divided from these assholes. I will continue to demonize them as long as they harbor those feelings of hate. As far as the middle of the road Repug who didn't care to gather enough information to vote in an informed manner, let them come to us. Bitter much, hell yes.

28. Same here
Just got a viral e-mail this morning that implied that Democrats are intent on protecting and paying people who refuse to work.

I politely wrote back my disagreement, stating that the country needs to heal and lie-based propaganda isn't helping. Well, I didn't exactly write it like that, but you get the picture.

32. Yes... I have far too much anger against the worst of them, and have for far too long -
it will not be easy or quickly that I will be able to throttle my anger against them. Taking the high road is the best way, but I can't just flip a switch like turning a light on or off to make it happen. Not after the last 8 years, plus the way they treated Clinton-Gore, etc.
