According to Jonathan Alter just now on Olberman. Totally agree.

1. What drama has Hillary caused over the last 7+ years in the Senate? These Hillary threads are insane
and tiresome. Holy crap, even I'm tired of seeing her name on GD: P. It also gives me no comfort that her name has replaced Sarah Palin's name as the pinata of the week.

3. I think Hillary would make a better pinata.
Palin's too thin.

5. No pinata. Are you saying Hillary would not be challenging Obama from the Senate?
I think she would.

7. No, she wouldn't. She has publicly stated that she'll be working WITH the Obama
administration. I take her at her word and her word is gold in my book. She said she'd campaign her heart out for Obama and that's just what she did. So if she says she'll work WITH Obama to implement his agenda I absolutely believe her.

8. What about healthcare? I suspect she would battle him tooth and nail on this issue ....
just like in the primaries.

10. She's not in charge of health care in the Senate, for one thing. Also, their positions on health

care aren't THAT different, especially when compared with McCain's plan.

12. So? Though I doubt irt. She would only battle on healthcare if she
stayed in the Senate. Healthcare is a domestic issue and not the purview if the SOS. And someone has to fight for healthcare. I have no problem with anyone fighting for healthcare. And if Prez Obama needs to have his feet held to the fire to get us healthcare, go for it. Elizabeth Edwards is already out there slugging away and bless her and all who fight for healthcare.

2. But Bill Richardson would prove to be a more effective SOS. It's performance that matters.

6. Considering your remarks in another thread, your advocacy for Richardson is a bit perplexing.

9. Nonsense. He proved during the Debates that he was not "up to speed".
I like Richardson but he is not SOS material and the world knows it. Let him stay as Governor.

coming up next on cnn right after "Are your paper towels trying to kill you, a special cnn consumer alert"

17. Politically, it's a fine move for Obama. In terms of candidate-job-fit, it's terrible.

20. He's wrong.
The reason she hasn't created much drama in the Senate the past few years is because the Senate works on a seniority system and she is near the bottom of the food chain. I think that's a big reason she wants the SoS job: to bypass the senority system and get back into a spotlight job immediately where she and Bill are the center of attention again. They just can't seem to get enough attention.
