Republicans Supporting Hillary for SOS makes me very nervous.
Are they salivating at the chance undermine Obama through Hillary's husband, Bill?

That concerns me too.

3. No, they're seeking to undermine Hillary
She scares the shit out of them. So they are doing the best thing they can to keep Democrats from wanting her - they're supporting her. Sort of like those "PUMA" dipshits - McCain voters who posed as pro-Hillary voters in an attempt to discredit her with intentional idiocy on their part.

I say the Obama administration take this bipartisanship at face value, appoint Clinton, and then smile while not commenting on the smell as every Republican in America shits their depends.

5. How, as SoS, would she scare rethugs? I'm not getting the reasoning.
Wouldn't/couldn't she scare them more in the Senate?

9. I'm not accusing Republicans of being especially bright
Just somewhat cunning.

Hillary scares them. Period. I don't comprehend why. And one of their tactics to undermind a dem they dislike is to support it and hope the, ahem. "fringe radical left wing that controls the party" starts burning cars or whatever we're supposed to do.

Having her in any position freaks them out, but shuffling her over to the Executive branch would result in a lot of GOP ripshitting going on. I don't try to understand the logic there, but I do understand it'll freak them out, and this is their way of trying to prevent it

4. Obama supporting Hillary makes me......
.....confident of it. He is a very intelligent person, and I trust he knows exactly what he's doing. Until he shows otherwise, I am going with his choices.

6. Charitable interpretation:
Her foreign policy is fairly hawkish, especially regarding Israel. They like that.

Uncharitable interpretation:
They see an opportunity to sow discord, create distractions, and otherwise prevent the Obama administration from getting off to a smooth start by keeping attention on "The Clintons" and their hijinks.

8. Must be that Obama is secretly in cahoots with the Republicans
Why else would he want a rightwing neocon troll like Hillary for SOS when all she wants to do is blow up the entire world?

11. They're also salivating for the chance to turn the confirmation hearings into a fiasco.
Bosnia snipers, Obama's "naive" foreign policy, supporting the war, Bill's business dealings, and all the other shit they'd drag out to create a circus.

It's a win win for them. Either they give Obama a bodyblow right out of the gate, or else they merely tarnish him and end up with a SoS who agrees with them on preemptive war, avoiding diplomacy, Iran, etcetera.

12. They support her because she's one of them...
in every way that counts... a warmonger and a friend to big business, banks, insurance companies, etc. Repukes don't really care about the social stuff she differs on (abortion).
