Gore only campaigns two days for Dean?
Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 08:38 PM by quinnox
I was a bit surprised to see in the news that Gore is only going to campaign in Iowa for two measly days over the weekend. I would think that in a tight contest taking place in Iowa for first by most polls, Gore would take more time than that to help his candidate. Why not campaign all next week in the state?

1. He hasn't gotten off of any of that campaign war-chest he's sitting
on either, not that I've seen anywhere. He hedgeing his bet now. Things aren't working out for him for 2008 the way he wanted them to. If he stays quiet, he probably thinks there's a Secretary of State position in it for him, That is if Clark or somebody else gets the nod.

"Hello, Massa; bottom rail on top dis time"
- A black Union soldier spoke these words to a Confederate prisoner he recognized--his former master.

2. The race in IA isn't particularly 'tight'
The last poll I saw had Dean up by 13 over Gephart, and 20+ over Kerry...

5. Yep.
The word we get from the State Central Committee folks here in IL is that the Dean campaign's internal polls in IA are showing Dean at 42-43%, and Kerry dropping to under 20%, with Gephart holding at 27-28%...

6. I haven't seen
any Gore stumping for Dean on tv. Of course, I may have missed it, but I imagine that would be news?

I know the intitial endorsement was a big thing, but it's fading now. I would think the whole photo-op with Dean and Gore on the campaign trail would be something they would love to get out there. I dont' know.
