(The last one is my favorite)

5. Today....
After he handed out food to the needy, it was noticed that the site was also adjacent to a school....and that kids were in the windows watching Prez Elect and His wife handing out the goods. Obama noticed them, and decided to make it his next stop.

Watch the video, towards the end is when he notices the windows, and says something to the effect..."well, I think I'm going to go and see them next".....or something like that. There is no sound for the first few minutes of the video, but then the sound starts.

Made me cry!

Here's the video: http://www.necn.com/Boston/Politics/2008/11/26/Obama-family-hands-out-food-to/1227729678.html

8. You got it.......
and even when he spoke to the reporter, you realized that whatever else he was saying.....he became President Bully Pulpit as soon as he decided that he was going to answer a media question, and the focus wasn't going to be him.

"That's what Thanksgiving is all about", Michelle said, when asked why was important for her and Barack to bring the kids (although they must have been elsewhere, cause they are not in the footage shown.....although I think the video starts at the very end of the time they spent passing out food).

But yes, these are special people. They are the kind of folks that we haven't seen in a very long time......in particular leading our country.

12. Made me cry, too.
Thank you for the link to the footage. It's worth watching the whole thing. Seeing all the kids faces in the windows is awesome. What a great day for the kids! They'll always have that memory of the day the President dropped in for a surprise visit!

13. I really wish there was video footage of the kids
"The enthusiasm was off the charts as Obama entered the room and attempted to shake hands with the children as young as five and pre-Kindergarten. Some grabbed onto his leather jacket sleeves and would not let go, trying to climb up in his arms."

http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2008/11/the_obamas_hand_out_food_at_so.html

It's just amazing that they understand who he is. I don't know any kids so it would be nice to hear their reactions.

19. Bush never could or would do anything like this
Bush always has to have everything programmed minute by minute so there are no surprises. Everyone has to be screened so there are no embarrassing questions he might not want to (or wouldn't be able t0) answer. In and out fast, everything according to script. What a delight to see something spontaneous and genuine.
