The Slate reporter seems pretty sure that Dean's campaign was putting out the flyers. But two points come up then. First, that means that hte reporter might not have looked critically at whether Dean's people put it out or if it's ratfucking. Second, Dean's supporters here have mentioned that the campaign is so decentralized that it may have gone out without approval by the Dean heirarchy.

The second possibility shouldn't get Dr. Dean a free pass, however. A leader needs to get more responsible activities out of his supporters. Accountability matters. A candidate has the responsibility for setting the limits on what his supporters can do.

And on top of that, Every time some Clark supporter starts a thread favorable to Clark, some Dean supporter comes in and sh*ts on it. So, why didn't you title this "A plea to Dean supporters"?

Note, this is NOT to say that no Clark supporters have EVER attacked Dean on a pro-Dean thread, or that no Clark supporters have EVER started "anti-Dean" threads, just that the bulk of the threads that *start out* as attack threads are attacking Clark, and the bulk of the positive threads that get shat on seem to be in favor of Clark. And, of course, this is just my perception... and since I rarely read attack threads UNLESS they're attacking my guy, it may be a bit skewed. Still, I've seen enough attacks on Clark - and I DON'T mean just disagreements on policies/proposals - that I have to take issue with you specifically addressing this thread to *Clark* supporters.

A friendly suggestion to lower your frustration level:

That little "x" box next to a flame thread is wonderful. If it is an attack, hit the little x, and the flame disappears. When all of the indignant Dean, or Clark, or Kerry, etc. supporters don't jump in to defend, because they've hit the "x," the thread will sink.

I don't use it a lot, but I've been known to use it when the mood takes me; when I'm getting aggravated. Mostly used, not for attack threads, but when I get sick of seeing one candidate's name repeated over and over in a majority of thread titles.

Anyway, a day or so of the "x" may leave you in a better frame.
