Secretary of Labor would be my first guess.

We almost had a Royal Flush, of sorts, in having taken the best of our candidates and composed a highly qualified cabinet.

I'm really happy with the way things are going, except that one of the strongest contenders will not likely be included.

:patriot:

24. Why?
He was never a Constitutional lawyer. He was an ambulence chaser.

I never thought he should have been AG!

Edwards was about Edwards. He wasn't about the poor. He wasn't about labor. He really wasn't even about Two Americas.

He was about himself (and, apparently, his dick).

40. "Ambulance chaser?"
He was an accomplished plaintiff's lawyer who secured justice for injured persons. He held Big Corporations ACCOUNTABLE (there's that word again!) for their actions when they caused harm to the little guy.

Ambulance chaser indeed. I know some ambulance chasers. Edwards isn't one.

Here's a hint: Next time YOU or your family is injured by a crappy, defective product that made millions for some big corporation, call your accountant. I'm sure he/she can help you out.

10. I would love Kucinich to get something. BUT after watching him
in the bailout hearings, I think he's just too good at what he does in the House. And those folks in Ohio really depend on him and deserve to have great representation. God, I'd love to see him as Speaker someday.

And Edwards, I dunno. Just because he had a stupid affair, and didn't reveal it prior to running, doesn't mean he's not sincere about his issues. I do think there should be a cooling off period, just to let the public move on to other matters, before he becomes too active again. They will forgive and forget, just not this soon.

35. Holder set it up for him
Of course the President does the actual pardoning, but the deputy AG could have put up someone more worthy. Leonard Peltier comes to mind. (And I sure don't expect Chimpy to pardon him :( )

42. Holder was pushed and rushed on Marc Rich BY Clinton who was doing it for GHWBush
to protect operatives named in IranContra and BCCI matters.

Clinton didn't want US to know that and misled Holder and others at DoJ - Clinton sided with GHWBush and Scooter Libby who was acting his role as BFEE legal fixer......as usual.

33. I was a big Edwards booster in 2004, and I feel totally betrayed by his stupidity...
Edited on Wed Dec-03-08 07:14 PM by KrazyKat
I had hoped that he would be the Democratic Party presidential nominee in '04. My wife and I donated $2,000 to his campaign, paid to hear him speak, etc.

Now, I can't even think of him without feeling the bile rising. How stupid -- or nervy -- would you have to be, when the RW media are monitoring ***every*** move you make, to go off and have a fling with a new-age groupie, and sneaking around hotels at 2:30 AM??? What does that say about his character? And when his wife is battling cancer, no less??? :grr:

Makes me sick...:puke: I hate to turn my back on anyone, but Edwards just doesn't exist any more in my world.

On edit: It's not the sex per se; affairs happen all the time, of course. It's the breach of trust -- he just let so many people down, starting with his family.

I liked Edwards though I was always with Obama. He really betrayed a lot of people. Not so much because of the affair but the cheating on a wife with cancer...It was pretty low.
