What do you think is the real deal between Obama and Bill Clinton?

I always found it really bizarre that after Hillary conceded, right off the bat, she had no problem stumping for Obama and praising him. But Bill Clinton really had me freaked out for a while there especially during that brief period when the race was essentially tied. He was saying nice things about McCain and Palin, and only lukewarm praise for Obama. What's the deal? Hillary got over it and became a great supporter but Bill was lukewarm until like 2 weeks before the election.

Whenever people talk about the drama between Obama and the Clintons, I think it's mostly between Obama and Bill. Barack and Hillary seemed to be perfectly OK-- it couldn't have been that ugly between them otherwise he wouldn't have offered her a job in his administration. In fact, a lot of the drama in the primaries wasn't really with Hillary but with Bill.

Bill was probably a little irritated that Obama said Reagan was the transformational President, more than him. And then there was the whole Jesse Jackson/fairytale fiasco. Then a lot of people were saying that Bill was probably peeved that Obama was basically crowned the true heir to JFK, by Caroline and Ted Kennedy no less, and people already calling it "Bamelot". Now, with the transition, the media is praising Obama's handling as compared to Clinton's somewhat sloppier transition. And Bill has said that he would've wanted to be President during a crisis. Is he afraid that a successful Obama presidency will somehow diminish his own as more minor and insignificant?

Obama has all of Clinton's people skills plus the ability to actually get things done. I think he can play politics with the best of them and that Clinton is somewhat envious of those skills as well.

done. Bill Clinton made a lot of progressive promises and so did Obama. We are gonna have to see if Obama can/will do the right thing.
To me Clinton was a let down. But, this year I'm hopeful again.

that probably Obama is a little bit jealous of Clinton's success with women, and I suspect that Clinton was probably irritated that people started to think that Obama would be the first black president. You are right that Bill is probably very sensitive about the whole "sloppy transition thing." I mean who wants to be remembered as having made a sloppier transition than someone else?

so they can have him mediate any problems! I don't know. I think Bill is jealous a bit only because Bill loves the spotlight and also Obama beat Hillary. Its not a real dislike of who Obama is, just the nature of the way rivalries happen. Obama is probably wary of Bill but willing to put up with him to have Hillary in the cabinet. I think Obama respects Hillary very much and learned a lot from having to debate her and run a tough campaign against her.

Seriously, guys can be that way. They love to be in competition. Bill just has to realize that he had his day in the sun, and now it is time for someone else, very much like him, but possibly new and improved. He can just look at Obama as one of his kids who did better than his father. Who wouldn't want that? :rofl:
