The Inauguration: I can't bring a camera bag, a Leatherman multi-tool thingie or an animal. Jeez.
Prohibited items:

* Firearms and ammunition (either real or simulated)
* Explosives of any kind (including fireworks)
* Knives, blades, or sharp objects (of any length)
* Mace and/or pepper spray
* Sticks or poles
* Pockets or hand tools, such as “Leatherman”
* Packages
* Backpacks
* Large bags
* Duffel bags
* Suitcases
* Thermoses
* Coolers
* Strollers
* Umbrellas
* Laser pointers
* Signs
* Posters
* Animals (other than service animals)
* Alcoholic beverages
* Other items that may pose a threat to the security of the event as determined by and at the discretion of the security screeners

What if my camera gets rained on? I won't have any Inauguration pics to post on DU. You know, 873 images showing just how far away I was from the action, backs of people's heads, my feet, the sky, and the like.

Drat.

1. My brain just ran "thermoses" and "coolers" together and came up with...
... "thermometers."

3. Are you sure about the camera bag limit? It seems small enough that they may allow them. (nt)

11. Where did you get that list?

No umbrellas? No signs or posters?
Thats more prohibitive than for Chimpy. You could bring signs but they had to be on cardboard tubes and not on sticks.

Nevermind I found it. Thats only for inside the ticketed swearing in ceremony area.

15. What sort of animal did you have in mind?

I have a number of protozoa who are going to be very disappointed.
