94. The first self-described Atheist ever elected to federal office in the US.
Of course, he told people he was an atheist after he got elected, but that didn't stop his constituents from voting for him again this year.

Hopefully someday we can celebrate the historic election of the first openly non-religious President, just as we made history this year.

11. Chris Murphy, CT Got rid of Rethug Nancy Johnson in 2006. He is a great rep.
He constantly updates his info with new mailers about what is going on in the world and in congress and seems very open and accessible. Young guy, in his early 30's just like me, relates to his constituents well and is down to earth. He would make a great Senator some day, maybe when Dodd retires some day in the future.

LIEberman!! I love Chris too. We've had many meetings with him up here in Thomaston. He comes to all of our Dem. Town committee fundraisers, and you're right....he does keep his constituents well informed !! When I lived in New Haven County (over 5 yrs. ago) I had the pleasure of knowing the GREAT Rosa DeLauro up close and personal. Helped with her campaign the very first time she ran. I'd say all in all, Ct. has some pretty damned good reps!!

62. Hey, I live next door in Terryville! That is really cool. We do have great reps.
Being a small state, we really have an advantage too, the reps can cover less ground. When does Loserman run again, 2012? I guess I was thinking Chris is such a great rep I want to keep him there for awhile. Dodd won't retire for a long time and Chris is young but I bet he would beat Loserman. I used to like Joe way back years ago, but he let us all down. My parents are from Cheshire and well it being a rich town they are Republicans. They voted for Joe this time, that is who he is appealing to and dumb Dems and independents. I guess I rebelled. We don't discuss politics as I really like Obama and Biden obviously and they voted for McCain and Palin.

He talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk. Voted no on Iraq, but was against impeachment and for the Wall Street bailout.

Basically, he does whatever the leadership wants him to do, and spend the rest of the time sucking up to people who are never going to vote for him anyway.

38. Tim Murphy (R) Christ, help us all... he was re-elected
After using dirty tricks to make up some nasty lies, then televise them blitz speed during the last few weeks. Steve O'Donnell, the best opposition, who should have won over this Bush-voting mouth breather, did NOT have the Democratic Party support he needed, and I'm very unhappy about that.

Meanwhile, I'm watching Murphy's ass closely and recording some things on my own. He'll eventually try to screw somebody over and we need to be to film this sleeze ball.

I can't stand him either. Although I saw him talking about the auto bailout recently and it's the first time I've been on the same side of an issue as him (kind of scary). But of course, as a MI representative, he pretty much has to support the bailout.

He will be a target in 2010 and if we have a good candidate I think he will be gone. I'm just not sure who the Dems could nominate. Glenn Anderson could beat McCotter but I don't want to give up Anderson's seat since we really need to win the state Senate for redistricting.

87. I love Oberstar!
I'm so jealous. I'm stuck with the pure evil of Michelle Bachmann. I really hate being in this district some days.

92. When we moved into the Eighth, we had a little celebration for moving into Oberstar's district.
He's great.

65. I like him a lot and have campaigned with him...
...but was disappointed that he caved to the gigantic bailout ~ after lots of us let him know what we thought of the deal, of course.

Something definitely happens to our Congresscritters in D.C.

My rep is Greg "I kiss Bush's ass" Walden in the 2nd Congressional District of Oregon. Thankgod the other 6 people in the Congressinal Delegation are all Democrats once the new Congress starts next month.

73. Xavier Becerra
Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 09:50 PM by ronnykmarshall
He's a good guy from what I know. I've only been in this district since Jan. Looks like he's going on to serve in President Obama's admin.

I've been VERY lucky.

Since 1986 I've had as my Congress Critters.

Barbara Boxer, Sala Burton and Nancy Pelosi (San Francisco)

Henry Waxman (West Hollywood)

and now Xavier Becerra (Silverlake/Echo Park - Los Angeles)

If Becerra takes the job w/ Obama it will be interesting to see who my next Critter is.

Though he's better then a Puke, that's for sure. And he's a good, decent, well meaning person, unlike, say, Bachmann.

76. Brian 'douchebag' Billbray

Well the guy was a Rep in another district and got disticted out and became a full time lobbyist. He never has lived in this district and never comes here living full time in Virginia.

Knocking on doors one of the people saw his picture on the backside of my literature and asked, "Didn't he used to live in Imperial Beach?" When told that he did he said, "Yeah that guy was my MJ connection when he was the lifeguard - he had great shit".

That was what he did instead of going to college - which he almost certainly could not have handled on an intellectual level.

90. He's pretty worthless
Kevin Brady

Tends to vote right-wing down the line, economically and socially. The best I can say about him is that he doesn't seem to get too carried away with the borderline racist or ultra-fundy stuff that many southern Repugs get into, as he's from The Woodlands and the business 'pugs aren't quite as much into that kind of stuff. However, the pseudo-anti-government (despite being hand-in-hand with * every step of the way as he dramatically expanded the size of the federal government and increased its spending), supply-side zealots are about equally repugnant, and he seems to be pretty solidly in that camp from what I've seen.

95. Don't you mean the sane Sanchez?
Edited on Sun Dec-07-08 04:44 PM by Alexander
"Linda Sánchez is considered to be more liberal than her older sister. While Loretta began her political career as a liberal Republican, Linda has always been a Democrat."

"Loretta Sanchez is a moderate politician, conservative on some issues including fiscal issues. She has supported a Constitutional amendment to outlaw flag desecration and encouraged states to prosecute violent juvenile offenders as adults. She is a Blue Dog Democrat as well as a member of the New Democrat Coalition."

Seems to me that Linda is the better half, unless you are more conservative.
