I seem to remember that Caroline Kennedy

is very shy. She has mentioned that she doesn't like to speak in front of crowds. I heard her in a television interview when she first began campaigning for Obama say as much. I don't rmember the exact program or date, but the comment was meant to convey that she would overcome her shyness because she believed in Barack so much.

She is not a natural public speaker and seems uncomfortable on the stump. None of this is particularly significant, except that I think it reveals HER feelings. I don't think she wants to run. I don't think she wants to give up her private life.

Of course I could be wrong, but are we really sure that she wants the job? I know it's shocking, but sometimes these rumors aren't true. DU could be wasting a lot of energy debating over a non issue.

BTW: Caroline had a wonderful speech at the convention, and while she is 'shy', that shyness is a product of the consequences of her celebrity, and not because she is 'fearful' in front of other people ...

You should have some experience- Warren wasn't a judge, but he had been Governor. If Caroline Kennedy wants to do those things, she should get some experience a little lower down- you have to pay some dues. She shouldn't be handed senate or SCOTUS because of her last name. No one without a famous last name and her level of experience would be considered for those jobs. I'm sure she's a nice and capable person, but let's not get carried away here.

Was it confirmed that she was being offered the Senate seat, or just that she was meeting with the governor? She was on Obama's VP selection committee. Perhaps she was just being asked for her recommendation as to who to appoint.
