Watching Obama speak today, he is just so common sense and practical

I really like how he approaches things...look, this does not work, lets do it this way. No name calling, no putting anyone down. Just a common sense way of seeing the problems of today. He is such an adult, I guess I am just so used to Bush.

1. It's the only way to tackle what lies before him...

...he's smart enough to know that the element of "leadership" has been missing from the White House for the last eight years. In times of crisis, people look to leaders for leadership, period. President-elect Obama's remarks...the recession “is a big problem, and it’s going to get worse,”...what a stark contrast between those words and Bush's endlessly repeated mantra, "The economy is strong, and gettin' stronger."

I'm neither an economist nor a political scholar but I've got to attribute a large measure of where we are right now to the fact that Bush only admitted we are in a recession that started in January 2007 last week. All of his efforts have been devoted to denials and smokescreens. I don;t want President Obama to pat me on the head, give me a cookie, and tell me everything is going to be OK. I want him to roll up his sleeves, go to work, and be honest. That's what I'm seeing, and I look forward to Bush permanently stepping aside so we can begin the long process of washing his stain out of the Oval Office.

2. Yup, lack of leadership on ANYTHING. Its a breath of fresh air.

He really gives answers at the press conferences that are down to earth yet intelligent at the same time. God, Shrub was such an idiot. He could barely make it through a press conference and Obama has done tons already.

3. That's one thing I really like about Obama. A refreshing change for the Executive branch.
