the true test of Obama will be his willingness to engage the corporations head-on . . . strict re-regulation, taking corporate money out of political campaigns, restricting CEO pay, mandating transparency, substantially reducing corporate influence in Congress and, perhaps most importantly, ending corporate personhood . . .
progress on every other issue he wants/needs to address -- the war, health care, the environment, energy, etc. -- will depend on how well he is able to strip corporations of much of their accumulated influence and ultimately restore citizen authority over corporations . . . the question is not only whether he has the wherewithal to do this -- it's also whether he has the desire . . . to make any real progress anywhere, though, he really will have no choice . . .
