I respect anyone who wants to criticize Obama but my issue with this criticism is that it appears many of the folks who are criticizing him are just looking for reasons to be unhappy with him and his choices.

Many of us expect him to be a very good president and definitely an improvement over the Bush years, however it seems that many folks want him to be the perfect president.

Don't sit down, don't shut up, just take something to treat that jerking knee.

Good Post and I visited your journal and like the post about your work within the Blago administration. I grew up in Chicago and have family still there so I understand where you are coming from. Blago is a psycho...my sister (who has since passed away) was a major supporter when he first ran for office. Republicans walk in lockstep which is a foolish attitude but a strategic one. It keeps their message to the middle very clear. We, on the other hand, are seen as petty bickerers on many occasions. listen people: if you cant find reasonable way to make your argument, perhaps you don't have one.

I think people who disagree with some of the things Obama is doing have been remarkably restrained, especially when compared to those attacking any and all critics. Also, the responses to attacks on the Left and the promotion of right wing ideas has been slow, and well-reasoned. "Knee jerk" suggests haste and a lack of thought. The opposite has been true, in my view.

I don't think that anyone is juts looking for things to criticize for the sake of criticizing, nor because they want to be unhappy. But of course we can't know that, which means that insinuations can be made about their motives and suspicions can be spread.
