Most important bit from Pat Fitzgerald's statement:
Edited on Tue Dec-09-08 10:55 AM by dave29
In a conversation with Harris on November 11, the charges state, Blagojevich said he knew
that the President-elect wanted Senate Candidate 1 for the open seat but “they’re not willing to give
me anything except appreciation. (Expletive) them.”

1. What was he expecting, a paper bag full of money
or what? Hard to tell from that statement.

Thank God that Obama didn't fall for it.

3. Uh, pretty much.
Yep, a sack full of cash, Secretary of HHS, or an ambasadorship.

Ten to one says Obama helped Fitz on this thing. Obama is probably livid over the little bastard.

11. Disgusting little worm isn't he?
It almost sounds like he was willing to try and EXTORT the Obama administration.
I hope justice is swift for this weasel.

from the running very early on. It didn't seem to gain traction.

is somehow tainted by association.

13. Pat Fitzgerald has no credibility after his mishandling of the Plame matters.
No prosecutor in the history of the country has done so little with a major case as Fitzgerald did with the Plame case. He's pathetic.

No wonder he was chosen to "prosecute" that case. He buried the case against Rove, Bush, and Cheney. He's a traitor.

19. What's Horrible Is The Governor's Willingness To Piss Off The President Elect
By trying to extort some sort of kickback. That is real smart in this economy. Piss off the President-Elect and say " them."

20. EXCUSE ME: Did he want someone appointed to something else?
Edited on Tue Dec-09-08 01:56 PM by Festivito
Rather than a thank you, we appreciate you. You give us what we want, we DON'T let you request an appointee in return.

That would seem unfair.

This seems like a typical RW hit job. Lots of theatre, doing this at his home instead of letting him come to court himself. He's not a flight risk.

It certainly helps keep Republican Larry Craig's story down with the SEE both sides do it mentality.

They might not be able to crack Fitzpatrick into timing his move, but they could have timed the Minnesota judges decision.

He may be guilty as sin. But, I've seen this in Detroit. A Dem gets paraded each day in front of the federal courthouse, day after day after day throwing just a little bit of dirt at a man some would say hoping some will stick, then one day he's cleared and we're on to the next story.

When a Republican is taken, tried, convicted, there's a mention of the conviction without reference to party affiliation and on to the next story.
