Several hours ago I was listening to BBC Radio 2, and the host
began interviewing a young sheriff in Illinois who has stopped evicting people from their homes, and is being sued for it.

Apparently, people have been paying their rent regularly, and because the landlord has not been paying his mortgage instalments, before they know it, the sherrif and his black-clad assistants have been turning up at these unfortunate people's homes, in front of their young children, to evict them. And that was the first the people knew about the matter. They had been told NOTHING!

What's more the criminal defaulters have been continuing to take out mortgages (or was it taking on tentants? - I'm not sure). That man is a hero, of course, and happily he is also an attorney, so here's hoping he gets the law on is side. Those evictions sure are the grossest of offences against natural justice. Apparently the furniture of the evicted tenants, persumably, put out in the street, is liable to be stolen, and even their vehicle, as it's a rough area, where doubtless many people duck and dive to get by.

3. Strange I missed it. He said it was going on all over the country.
Haven't the people responsible been ordered to give the tenants notice, particularly those who'd kept up their payments? At least the poor souls who couldn't keep up the payments woud not have been taken totally by surprise.

4. Technically, at the point of foreclosure, it's not the landlords' property.

But there's been a LOT of BS going down with this whole thing...

I'M WONDERING how much THIS went on where two guys got together. Party A buys a house, no money down for like $80,000. A few months pass. His friend, B, then buys the house from A for like $400,000. (A chalks up a $320k gain). Of course the mortgage companies weren't like LOOKING at the house or anything in order to make the mortgage the second time around - they'd be selling it to the market and it wouldn't be their problem...

But THEN, new owner Party B WALKS AWAY AND DISAPPEARS.

This actually happened but they were CAUGHT, but I'm wondering HOW MANY WERE *NOT* CAUGHT???

LASTLY - THIS REALLY DOESN'T BELONG IN PRESIDENTIAL, DOES IT? Just sayin'
