The way Mika portrays the long suffering, submissive and dutiful wife role ... "helpmate" to Joe if you will, well her hyper-feminine fawning on Joe and "posing for the camera" makes me so proud that almost 30 years ago, I endured INTENSE harassment and sexism; trained like a maniac to run 7 minute miles (in boots!) and push-up/ran/humped 30 lb parachutes ON my way to GRADUATE at one of the two Infantry Schools open to women.

Oh yah, you betcha! Back in 1979 while I was working as an Instructor for rappelling a young resentful corporal said to me, "I don't like taking orders from WOMEN." I retorted, "you best work on an attitude adjustment because I'm about to HOOK you up at the top of this rock." :evilgrin:

Yes, Mika's "camera posing" and, in general, male submissive and cowering behavior really makes me proud to be an independent woman who paid her dues in the 1970s-80s. :sarcasm:

My daughter's a genuinely beautiful natural blond young lady - but instead of beauty contests - she's well versed in Martial Arts. ;)

I want happiness and the best of life for my beloved daughter. However, UNLIKE Mika, when her youthful beauty FADES, she'll be left with an equally "BEAUTIFUL Personality" to fill in the gap.

There's nothing wrong with being attractive, but with some women/men, they play that angle too far. By the time they're about 50 y.o. it's sad to see how they've deluded themselves to believing that they are still *hot* :wtf: and can get their way by flirting.

She makes a tremendous salary, wears fine clothes, gets lots of camera time, is on her way to a long career. You took a different path. You obviously do not regret yours, and I am sure she feels the same.

I think the submissive "helpmate" characterization is over-stated - just the typical morning meme here. I watch the show daily - and while am sometimes amazed at her cowering, typically find her able to speak her mind pretty freely. It is Joe's show - and he treats everyone on there accordingly - not just Mika.

1) of the many thousands, and probably millions, of interns in all industries, one could expect quite a few deaths STATISTICALLY...right?

2) joe is a good and proud 'cracker' by his own admission/claim...there is no 'thin' or 'veil' over his racism, and it is insulting that you would claim that he does not promote those views vociferously and even viciously

3) of course he is a gentleman...a good southern gentleman would, of course, not talk about such matters as 'dead interns' or 'deserving negroes' in public
