Jindal Says "no" to 2012 Presidential Run
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1208/Jindal_says_no.html?showall

"Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, seen by many Republicans as the most promising standard-bearer for a remade party, said at a Richmond, Va press conference that he isn't running for president in 2012.

At a news conference Wednesday with Bob McDonnell, Virginia's 2009 Republican candidate for governor, Jindal was asked if he was interested in being president, AP reports.

His answer: "No."

Jindal said he's planning to run for reelection in 2011, something that would make pivoting to a national campaign logistically and politically tricky."

1. Good! His state is the most corrupt in America.
Or that is what MSNBC newsreader Contessa Brewer told me.

17. They must be part of ASIA now (Allied States of Alaska & Illinois)
Coming from New Orleans myself, I can tell you the Yats hate coming in 2nd or 3rd place at anything--especially corruption.

3. I almost feel sorry for Politico
It's kind of like electoral-vote.com only lame. They've got nothing to report now that the election is over so they pretend this is serious stuff.

Why the hell would Jindal announce a Presidential campaign one month after the last one? It would be the most piss poor timing in the history of announcements, he'd have to re-announce in 2 or 3 years because nobody would remember it.

4. Obama said he would not run as late as 2006
I believe McCain said in 2000 that he would not run again.

There are things about a Jindal candidacy that scare me: he is actually intelligent and articulate; racist white Republicans slobber all over him and they pat themselves on the back as to how non-racist they are.

5. He's probably afraid of going up against Palin, the other religious whack job in the running.
Edited on Wed Dec-10-08 02:41 PM by ClarkUSA
His religious views make Opus Dei look like the United Church of Christ. If he runs against Palin in Iowa, dollars-to-donuts he'll lose
and he'll want to avoid that label.

7. Whoa.
However, I wouldn't put too much stock in this. Jindal could be coerced if the RNC gives him a sloppy enough blowjob.

He knows he wouldn't win in 2012.

if Obama can't make good enough on his campaign promises. Don't count Jindal out of 2012 yet.

20. As will any Rethug with a clue
Obama will win re-election in 2012. I'm callin' it now. Guess what. It's nearly impossible to beat an incumbant Pres. (or anything else for that matter) and it's obvious already Obama will improve our situation. Only the most clueless who sport the enormous ego most pols have will run against Obama in 12.

I got $100 on Palin runnin'. Let's see.....requirements: "Clueless with enormous ego"? You betcha!

21. Jindal knows it's a waste of time.
He knows that the GOP has the "It's my turn" mentality (where some longtime officials run because they think it's their turn and not because they're actually qualified). So he knows he'll have to wait a LOOONNNGGG time before they give him a shot.

Will it be Palin? I am not sure. She'll try but they know she'll lose so the party elder will try to pick someone with a lot of cash (Romney) or someone who just wants a shot (Gingrich).
You know how Repub primary voters can be like.
