PER CAPITOL FAX: http://thecapitolfaxblog.com/2008/12/10/this-just-in-deputy-governor-resigns/

Wednesday, Dec 10, 2008

* 1:50 PM - There’s been a whole lot of speculation that Greenlee is “Deputy Governor A” in the federal criminal complaint against Rod Blagojevich and John Harris.

Well, Greenlee just resigned…

A spokeswoman for Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich says one of his top aides has resigned.

Spokeswoman Kelley Quinn on Wednesday said Deputy Gov. Bob Greenlee resigned. The reason for his resignation wasn’t immediately clear.

Greenlee’s resignation comes a day after Blagojevich was arrested on federal corruption charges.

Greenlee was promoted to be a top aide to Blagojevich in June, replacing former Deputy Governor Sheila Nix. Greenlee had been a top administration aide previously.

The speculation that CapFax references comes from Illinois insiders not folks who didn't even know who Greenlee was before this morning.

1. No its not.
It's not because the deputy governor they were referring to as taking the seat was a "he"

3. Per The Hill
1-Valerie Jarrett
2-Lisa Madigan
3-Jan Schakowsky
4-Louanner Peters
5-Jesse Jackson Jr.
6-Blair Hull

-snip-
Senate Candidate 4 is a deputy governor, most likely Louanner Peters, whose name was floated as a potential Obama replacement even before the Democrat won the presidency. Peters, a former chief of staff to ex-Rep. Gus Savage (D-Ill.), was the deputy campaign manager of Blagojevich’s 2006 reelection effort. In the Blagojevich administration, she handled social services issues.

7. The Fucking "The Hill" knows less than we do, obviously.
The paragraph you quote is a guess, not a stated fact. It even reads.....Most likely. Most Likely does not read, "IS".

Edit your title please. Thanks.

8. Again what did I get wrong?
There is no chance that Greenlee would have gotten the appointment, he has no political capital, Louanner however does. She is very popular in the Black community.

4. You need to edit your headline.......
Cause you are bringing up a person's name on the Internet in a way that shouldn't be.

9. Candidate #4 is Dep. Gov. Bob Greenlee who resigned today.
Why would he resign otherwise....as he gives no reason.

Plus, candidate #4 is referred to as a "he".

10. Frenchie. . .you are wrong on this. He resigned because he is Deputy Gov. A.
There is no indication that Deputy Gov. A is also candidate 4. I might back off of Peters being Candidate 4, but I will back off of Greenlee being candidate 4.

I'm not trying to pull rank, but I served in the Blagojevich administration as a political appointee and as you can imagine been in close contacts with a lot of folks who worked there and we are all confident that Greenlee, who I know, is Deputy Gov. A.

Not trying to be a know it all, but I have a bit of insight.
