Any contender for that seat would have been dragged into this mess.

Blago likely used Jackson's name to jack up his price.

It would be so wrong to allow this cr@p to rub off on Jackson simply because he was in the pool of contenders. So wrong.

1. JJJ can only be harmed if he tried to purchase the seat.

6. What's wrong with what they said?
They just said he can only be harmed if he's guilty, implying that he very well might not be.

14. There was nothing trollish about this new DUers comment.
It sounds like a comment that anyone of us could have made.

Guilt by association has been a regular talking point.

I continue to think he would make a great US Senator, and wish I lived in IL so I could vote for him.

and every other dem that will now have to go through a special election. they are just pulling shit out their ass, rewriting illinois law, like they tried to do and failed. they tried to get a recall provision and were shot down. now this.

can you say gray davis?
can you say elliot spitzer?
oh, and, can you say bill clinton?

listen, blaggo may be an asshole. he may even be a crook. but we heard all this shit before we RE-ELECTED him. he may be a crook, but he is our crook. we voted for him. we deserve him.

13. That's right. It's not the Blaggo, it's the motion and it's obvious.

12. Nominated.
At this point, there is no evidence that he was involved in anything close to illegal. The governor's rantings can hardly be considered worthy of serious consideration.

15. It'll come down to the supposed emissary
I'm curious to know who this "emissary" is. I have this strange irking feeling that Jesse Sr. might have been speaking out of turn on his son's behalf. That would Shakespearean irony for you.

Still, there's nothing in the complaint that implicates JJJ in any wrongdoing. Ask questions and investigate, certainly. But as far as we know, it's all hearsay. Blagojevich could very well have been talking out of his ass, fabricating "offers" as a negotiation tactic or bait among the various candidates, trying to get them to compete or up the ante.

Given the character of the soon-to-be former governor, we have no cause to believe what he said was truthful.

While I believe Blagojevich is guilty as hell, any fair-minded person must suspend judgement of anything regarding JJJ until all the facts come to light.
