So who gets Worst Governor of the Year?
Edited on Wed Dec-10-08 07:44 PM by mwei924
What a year for Governor scandals. Senate seat selling AND hookers. And I thought 2004 was bad with the gay sex scandal.

11. Must Be a Tie in Palin: Quick - Think Like a Repug
Palin and Blogo are Governors in te USA

They are governors of states that borders a waterway system that borders a foreign country

They can see a foriegn country from their front porches, really!

Both are astonishingly dillusional

Both have big hair

They are blinded by political ambition

They lie a lot

They fly back and forth from their homes to the state capital excessively at tax-payer expense

They try to use their office to get people fired

Come people - add some Repug thinking here - its that word association game! Tie them together like twins born of the same womb, does not have to be true, connecting the dots is all that counts in the world of Republican spin and gullable populace. Feed 'em crap and convince them that it is gourmet ice cream!

Palin plays pay to play - she takes perdiem to play governor FROM HOME, not the state Capital

3. I still think Palin takes the cake.
Blago is dishonest but he is somewhat competent. The barracuda is dishonest and incompetent.

You obviously do not live in IL. He is neither honest nor competent. He is, without a doubt, the worst Governor I have ever seen--and I believed that before this week.

16. It depends on what you mean by that, I suppose.
He'd certainly do better as a VP candidate than she did. I'm sure he does a better job of managing a big, complex, politically treacherous state like IL than she would. I think he has more innate competence than she does. But I also think that, looking purely at how well he runs his state's bureaucracy and how well he interacts with his state's legislature, versus how well she runs and interacts with hers, that he has done a worse job than she does. His job has much, much less margin for error, but he's been an absolute ineffectual disaster marked with extraordinary levels of corruption at all levels, and in Alaska she has only been a mild disaster with podunk personal-revenge-type corruption.

10. Gov. Rick Perry by far
Texas is still a mess since Ike and he is also involved in a child sexual abuse scandal involving kids in prison.
Say what you will about Spitzer and Blago, covering up child abuse takes the cake.

12. don't forget ol' sonny perdue.
Edited on Wed Dec-10-08 08:32 PM by DubyasWorld
sonny perdue scandals (from a group that's pissed about ol' sonny not keeping his pledge to restore the confederate battle flag as the state flag):

"Most readers here are probably already convinced that Sonny Perdue is not only a liar and hypocrite, but also a sleazy crook. If not, then let the facts below speak to your skepticism. My intent here is to walk through some obvious and some subtle connections that may have escaped notice. I’ll attempt to minimize my opinion here (do I detect doubt in your eyes??) and allow you to draw your own conclusions based on the facts and sources presented."

Dumbass Ernie is long gone.

I nominate Palin, who I don't really believe is up to running a mall sunglasses hut. Hell, Palin made my ex-Governor seem smart, effective, and in touch with the people.

21. Swartzenegger and Palin hands down.
Edited on Thu Dec-11-08 12:38 AM by political_Dem
The plunging budget alone should send Arnold toward recall. And if this man even considers running for the Senate, may a higher power help us.

Palin? Her record speaks for itself no matter how many times she tries to have a "make-over" of her image.

Blagojevich? He also gets an honorable mention. But, even he does not outdo the Gubenator.

24. Palin
How quickly we forget.

Palin was the member of a racist secessionist group that hates the US and are taped saying that one of their goals is to elect people to all levels of government to further their goals.

Palin abuses her power as Governor, whether it be a personal vendetta, or to shake down librarians who refuse to ban books. Who knows how else she abuses that power.

Palin's enthusiasm for stirring up lynch mobs during the primaries imo is unforgivable barring a fall to her knees, public come to Jesus moment where she admits the seriousness of what she has done and works to ensure that that behavior is no longer acceptable in public/political discourse.

And then of course is Palin's sheer idiocy, incompetence, and lunacy. People should greet W* in a dress with the same disdain that is held for W*.
