The Blago Indictment and "The President Elect's Adviser"
Edited on Sat Dec-13-08 12:02 AM by Clio the Leo
I am usually pretty easy on the press. I know they have a job to do. But when even RACHEL seems to be confused (because I like to think the best of her and don't think she's knowingly misleading us) on what the DOJ report says re: the Blago incidents then we all need to take a beat. The press is saying things like "the report mentions the Governor having phone calls with 'DC advisers' could Emanuel be one of those advisers?"

The simple answer is "no" and the report is abundantly clear. Not only are there NO allegations of any wrong doings on (who we can only speculate to be) Emanuel, but there aren't even any mentions of the governor having a phone call with him!

The confusion comes from the fact that there are several advisers mentioned, most notably "adviser A" and "adviser B." It is clear from the context that they are people working FOR the Governor and are OUTSIDE of the Obama organization.

There are two of the "President-elect's advisers" one of which is simultaneously described as "candidate 1" and who we all know to be Jarret.

That leaves one other figure, referred to in the report as "(President-elect Adviser)." There are only 3 times when this person comes up. And in EACH of those times, the Governor describes PLANNING to contact "President-elect Adviser" and not an incident where he's ACTUALLY talking to him.

For your reference....

p.70 incident 112

p.71 incident 113 and 114

Also, these incident's took place on Nov 13th. AFTER Jarret took her name out of the running.

IF there were any conversations between Harris, the Governor and "(President-elect Adviser)" they are so innocuous that they dont even warrant a mention in the report.

SO LEAVE RAHMMY ALONE!!!!!! YA GOT IT!!!

Hope that is helpful to some of you. I just wanted to cut to the chase for those who haven't read the whole report.

1. Great points
You are absolutely correct about Rahm never even talking to Blago. He spoke to Harris(Blago's Chief of Staff). Check out this latest article.

3. Rahm might be overreacting deliberately.
His behavior could be designed to put the attention on himself and take it away from Obama. Rahm is not stupid.

4. Well, one thing you can say about him....
.... he's the first "stalkee" I've ever heard about who let the press "stalker" into his house to use the bathroom.

At the worst, he's clever, at the best ... he's REALLY nice. lol

2. One of Blago's problems,
besides being a corrupt s.o.b., was that he never talked to ANYBODY. A lot of problems could have been cleared up with a phone call or a face to face meeting. Blago didn't do any of that.

At one time or another, he had feuds with nearly everyone in state government. There are officials who have not spoken with him in years. He avoids them.

Given this pattern of behavior, it is unlikely that he and Rahm had any intimate chats - about anything.

5. Articles Have Absolutely No Facts - Proving The Negative - LINK
Here is another article on the front page of MSNBC that continues this charade. Obama has said that he is conducting an internal review, and will report the results before he comments further. Yet, here is entire article reporting Obama's declaration, then complaining about the lack of leaks regarding the status of the internal review, and suggesting that the lack of leaks suggests something inappropriate. This just reinforces the fact that the media is owned by corporations out to destroy the Obama presidency before it begin. Bush specifically DEFENDED Tom DeLay, yet the press never imputed corruption to Bush the way they are doing with respect to Obama, even though Obama has called on Blago to resign. The press simply refuses to hold Bush accountable.
