I wouldn't have any problem with Tammy Duckworth.

I'm sure that will incense a few here as witnessed by the Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg posts, but I like her. I like that she's fresh to the political scene. I like that she seems open minded and intelligent. The fact that she hasn't "paid her dues" is totally lost on me. She lost both her legs while serving her country for a war she opposed. She's paid more than enough dues for me.

I don't live in Illinois, but I have no problem whatsoever hoping Tammy Duckworth will now be a serious contender for the appointment.

1. It won't be Jesse Jackson, Jr. that is for sure.

3. Nope, even if there's not even any damning audio to come...
the taint is huge with the Dec 6th Blago fundraiser. JJJ will be in the house for a few more years I suspect. No senate seat this time around.

I'm series. If there is a special election, we could get hosed - big time.

5. I wouldn't have a problem with her either, but it's not going to happen now b/c
she was appointed to a position by Blago.

Am I saying she had anything to do with him and this current mess. No.

But if it is Quinn that ends up appointing, he is going to have to find someone outside of Blago's stratosphere.

If it ends up being a special election, than anyone including JJJ or Duckworth will be able to run, as whoever is picked, it will be the voters.
