He's been taking a beating from the RNC and conservative pundits (and even some liberal ones) over Blagogate, but at least from what I can tell, I've noticed an absence of Republican elected officials on TV criticizing him for it. I did not see Meet the Press this morning so maybe they had some today, but so far, I find the absence of elected Republicans hitting Obama for Blagojevich interesting and possibly encouraging. During the campaign, they always had a cadre of Republican senators and governors and Congressmen out hitting Obama on everything. Since the campaign, Republicans had been very hesitant to criticize Obama and Blagogate has opened the door for the RNC to take the gloves off, but I haven't noticed Republican electeds following suit. If so that's encouraging, because it shows that they know that they will have to work with him next year and that they see the 73% favorability and recognize that being seen as working with Obama as president rather than bashing and obstructing is the best move politically.
Has anyone else noticed the absence of elected Republicans bashing Obama over Blagojevich, or do I just not watch TV enough?
