To the US Senate representing New York. He will appoint whoever he believes is the best man or woman for the job.

These comparisons to Hillary Rodham Clinton are getting a bit tired, though.

Hillary Clinton was a major player in the Ted Kennedy-backed team that made CHIP a reality.

Later, Hillary Clinton worked to get the Adoption and Safe Families Act and the Foster Care Independence Act passed in Congress.

Hillary Clinton was elected by the people of New York twice to represent New York in the United States Senate. (With a HUGE margin in '06)

Hillary Clinton was the most outspoken First Lady since Eleanor Roosevelt. (Who also had a fanatical opposition)

Eleanor Roosevelt was a delegate to the UN General Assembly from 1945 to 1952 (Hillary Clinton is going to be our next Secretary of State)

Hillary Clinton was the first woman ever to win a primary state in a nominating contest between the two major parties. (Eleanor Roosevelt was the last woman in the White House for more than 2 terms)

1. And I am tired of hearing Hillary supporters refer to such an accomplished,
respected progressive as a "dilettante."

2. Okay...
Never in my post did I refer to CKS as a "dilettante."

4. No, you didn't use that particular word.
But a number of Hillary's proponents (and I've always liked and respected Hillary) seem to be strangely antagonistic toward Caroline.

I think they're both strong, intelligent, thoughtful progressive women; and that it isn't necessary to put one of them down to promote the other.

5. I am anything but "antagonistic"
Caroline Kennedy Schlossburg is definitely an accomplished woman. I have no qualms about her qualifications.

It is up to Governor Patterson to determine the best fit for the soon to be vacant Senate seat in New York.

7. With the polls showing her so much ahead of the competition,
and the fact that she and he won't have to compete for funding from the same limited pool of NYers, I'll be surprised if Patterson chooses anyone else. But you're right, it's his call.

6. I am an avowed and open Hillary supporter and I don't think the oppositon
is coming from people who supported her in the primary.

I think it is more of the Nader types.

If CK is appointed I am more than happy about that.....she is a strong DEM.....unlike what people are proposing for Penn. in 2012............Tweety....please.

8. You could be right about that. And I'm sure you're right
about Tweety.

No thanks, Tweety.

9. I'm a far leftist
or "Nader type," as you put it. :eyes:

I've read one of CK's books, and she seems OK.

Now Tweety, on the other hand, is scum. Don't look now, but HE is the one trying to engineer a catfight, for obvious reasons at that.
