Remember, Caligula was the child of a great hero of his time!
But then so was Alexander the Great.

In other words, we can use all sorts of silly arguments and debates over Caroline Kennedy but in the end it's Paterson's choice to make and all these petty arguments at DU aren't going to do a thing but raise blood pressure.

If you really hate the idea of Caroline Kennedy becoming a senator, and you live in the state of New York, let Paterson know. If you don't live there, it's really none of your business.

This fight has become little more than a way to revive the Obama/Hillary wars with a few players changing sides.

In the meantime, more jobs have been lost, more people have been kicked out of their homes and more innocent people in Iraq have died.

What's really important here?

1. You are, of course, right
about the relative importance of things. BUT as we all know, this election has created a huge number of 'new' politicos, and we're now looking for somethings to do!

2. Demosthenes stood on the floor of the Athenian Senate and mocked
Alexander as a wet-behind-the-ears know-nothing little punk.

Not a very long time later, Demosthenes was singing a different tune.

3. What's important here ... KITTIES, although interesting exchanges on politics
seem to be well recieved by many DU'ers.

This is a disappointing place to spend time if you think it is only an incubator of a unified grassroots movement.

6. No. The vast majority of Hillary supporters support her. Ignore the fringes...
of the anti-royalists that supported Obama - Cali - and the dogged Hillaryite - wyldwlf.

Exceptions are not the rule.

7. Survey says...
according to the du poll, 200 support the kennedy-schlossberg appointment and 50 do not. That means 25% of du does not support caroline, or 1 in 4 do not support, but on the other hand it also means that 3/4 of du does support the caroline senate appointment.

8. That's the best suggestion I've heard today.
And I already have one of them on ignore. I found that she can't discuss anything without trying to tear the other person down with personal attacks and uses a bunch of weak-minded cronies to help. The other is just a minor annoyance. :)
