I think I figured out something this morning...
Its been bothering me as to why the press has been cowtow'd for the past 8 yrs....especially the presidential press corp. Journalist finally admitted that the reason they didn't ask hard questions of Monkeyboy is because if they did, they would be tombstoned and lose those 6 figure incomes. I can understand that. There was only one exception to that...and we all love Helen for it.
Now to Barack and why HE will be hammered by the press. THEY all know he wont be that petty. He will not tombstone them for asking the hard questions. They know they wont lose their jobs. They will, however unfairly, leave no questions in the bag when pressing Barack for answers.
It may be unfair, but now I understand.

As an afterthought, I know that their corporate masters pull their strings too.

1. Everything you said is true. What I still don't understand is why
all the reporters, as a group, didn't ask those questions? The WH needs the press to get their information out, so they couldn't tombstone them all! It's really not THAT BIG of a group...especially if you're only talking about the WH Press Corps.

2. I think it's because they are all competitors
who don't realize the power they'd have if they united.

3. That would seem to be true. It is certainly puzzling.

4. Yes, They WOULD Have Tombstoned Them All
If they could get Dan Rather fired, then they could do the same to any other member of the press.

That is why coverage of Bush** and the Republicans is like this:

While coverage of Obama and the Democrats is like this:

and always will be.
