Coleman wants to stop the ballot count. A hearing is scheduled for tomorrow.

Go to the third contact down on the page (Clerk of the Appellate Courts) and tell them to COUNT ALL THE VOTES.

1. Writing to the Minnesota Supreme Court won't do anything useful.
They follow the law, not public opinion. Years ago I clerked for one of the justices and it is a very fair court -- but their job is to interpret and follow the law, not respond to a public opinion poll.

4. Don't waste your time. They don't respond to or even read that kind of thing.
Like I said before -- they will make their decision on the basis of the law, not on the urgings of e-mailers.

5. +1 ocelot.
Further, I disagree in principle to trying to bully justices. They are supposed to be unencumbered by mob rule.

6. Huh?
Rule of law is antithetical to pure democracy.

In a pure democracy, the ultimate law is what 50% + 1 of the voters say. Change the timing of a traffic signal or decide that 49% of the population have no rights, no difference. The same mob that can overthrow the capitalists can also decide that blacks are properly slaves. I would hate to live in a pure democracy if I have a better option. The democracy set up in the US in 1776 was far more Enlightened than a pure democracy, based on some absurdly elitist and abstract principles (at the time), and yet providing a mechanism for laws and even the Constitution to be altered ... but not by a simple majority. Majoritarianism can be included as a kind of political evil, when writ large.

Remember that. Opt for rule of law, as long as there are reasonable ways to change the law.

7. Does Coleman have any legal standing to stop the count? Or does it really matter to reThugs?
