4. I think he pretty much has to keep Fitzgerald at least in the beginning

Otherwise, he opens himself up to charges that he is playing politics or covering something up by pulling Fitzgerald off the Blago case, and potentially off of other corruption he might find in Obama's home state.

Obama would not be removing him.

Perception rules and the majority would consider it as Obama removing him.

13. Funny how the soon to be previous administration never had

this 'perception rules' issue, even when they conducted an outright purge of their own DA's to get rid of the ones who were not playing ball by their new rules. Even as they outright obstructed and stone-walled all attempts to investigate what actually happened. Heck, the prior regime could and did commit acts that quite possibly amounted to treason, and perception never seemed to rule.

Your concern is noted. Every one of the DAs should go out the door. If there are some who are honest, they can be invited back in.

These are all four year appointments that are each new administration's to hand out.
