We should both play the lottery today, since you put this out to the universe and all!

17. To be precise - it's up to Paterson

I can't see why people are so exercised about it.

Paterson has my complete confidence. I'm sure he'll make a great pick.

We might as well argue about who is more qualified to be Obama's dog.

18. It is in fact everyone's business.
At least everyone in the U.S. not everyone gets a *vote* but you would have to be nearly certifiably insane to try to argue that it is nobody's business who any of the 100 people voting on the legislation that applies to everyone in the country will end up being.

I happen to think the people harping constantly on the issue of experience or perceived nepotism are mostly idiots... but there is no rational argument to be made that the topic is none of their business. What the hell could be MORE someone's business than who is governing them?

21. Ahhhh, but that's the problem.
The people of New york will not have much say about it since the governor will make the appointment. The people of NY will have to wait two years to vote for their own senator. Same as in DE and IL.
