"Congress will be between a Barack and a hard place."
That's what Joe Trippy said on 1600 tonight ~ meaning we'll all be contacting those Congresscritters who hold up President Obama's (our) agenda.

LOL ~ perfect!

1. Us, hell. We'll be the least scary part of the equation.
I suspect the congresscritters will be looking over their shoulder for Rahm Emanuel. :)

And no money is a "hard place." So, we agree.

7. I am reporting you to the moderators
I can't believe you'd use a phrase like "hold the pork" here in the middle of a family-friendly forum.

What the fuck is the matter with you?

10. I would like to hope that you are right.
But if the recent pork laced stimulus package is any indication, it looks as if little will change when it comes to matter of pork.

13. Yeah, they were SHAMELESS with that package...
But if Obama uses all those email addys to keep us informed about the details of bills, and let us know who to pressure (as Trippy suggested he would), it'll be a whole new ballgame!

6. While it's clever, I don't know if it's Obama or Congress being called too cautious here
Does this mean conservative elements in Congress will stall out Obama's reforms... or that the Congress will be frustrated by Obama's "centrist positioning"? I think Trippy just wanted to use that soon-to-be-tiresome pun before it got trite and couldn't wait any longer for a good opportunity to present itself.

8. I think it means that no one knows what to do.
After all, if economists can't agree, how are people who know little more than you or me supposed to figure it out?

9. He was talking about all the email addys they have, and how they plan...
...to use them to ask supporters to pressure difficult members of Congress to get the job done.
