4. This is worth fighting for. Thank you for posting this
This argument keeps turning into a fight over someone else's objections over how people want to live their own lives. That's almost the definition of a dysfunctionality.

It's none of my business, so I say leave them alone and let them live their lives.

I'm so happy that they were able to marry before Del passed on.

9. I know :(
Del is 83 years old and I am 79. After being together for more than 50 years, it is a terrible blow to have the rights and protections of marriage taken away from us. At our age, we do not have the luxury of time.

10. I thought about posting that quote
IIRC, it was after their first marriage (2004) was voided.

I do love pictures of them though, they remind me what love really is. You know, you can't control who you fall in love with and when it happens, it is beautiful.

And, I have to confess, Del and Phyllis remind me of my own parents. They met in Georgia in the early '50's. They moved back to my dad's home state of Kansas so they could be married because of Georgia's anti-miscegenation laws.

12. When I first learned about them
I said to my partner, we've been together 7 years, only 43 to go :)

Our favourite saying is: "it's not who you love, or how you love, but that you love"

19. This can't be happening! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!!
Do you know what those people are going do DO after the wedding is OVER? NOOOOOOoooo!!! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!!

Actually, the whole notion of gay marriage seems really non-threatening when you see that it's just a bunch of happy, well-adjusted people enjoying an important moment in their lives. It seems to me that things like Britney Spears' farce marriage are more alarming.

21. Beautiful families! I wish Obama would just outright ALLOW gay marriage...
but we all know his position on the issue. At least he's the best real option we had and he'll take steps in the right direction to full equality of GLBT rights one day.
